Me either, considering you're actually looking in the same places I am. I say on the 10th when Target puts their stuff out, we may see a change. If this weekend Target doesn't do their set up then I'm starting to panic too. The Bailey's and the rt 50 target have only put out 2 vehicles, yet they have a dozen pegs ready. The Bailey's TRU hasn't restocked since the 4th just 3 BBQs left. The worst is my brother lives in Baltimore, about 45 minutes away and his shelves are clogged. Target at least. Have you been down to Kingstowne? Where did you find your stuff so far?
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, Loose Cannon. I've been all over. My new Church is in Bealeton, and I've checked just about every Target and Toys R Us in Fredricksburg, Manasas, Fairfax, Sterling, Reston, Alexandria, and Falls Church. I've tried the Toys R Us on Rte 7 and Kingstowne. I've tried every Target, Wal-Mart, and K-Mart I know of. It's crazy. I went to Target and TRU's websites, and just started plugging addresses into my GPS... I think it's pretty safe to say: There are no PIT Commandos, Helixes, Gen. Hawks, Para-Vipers, or Eels in Northern Virginia. That's really not that much of an exageration because I have physically checked. Now, I know we're all looking for PIT Commando. So if I do find more than one, I'll buy some extras and I'll get one to you, but I'm getting really frustrated. Weren't they supposed to be the Troop Builder? Maybe all the equipment makes them too expensive to produce... I don't know. But I have checked TRU's website and Target's website and they don't even list any of those figures. Overall, I've been really impressed with the quality of these figures. I'm seriously thinking of getting a shipwreck and using his head on a desert Duke body... I think that would look a lot like a Delta Operator, which would be awesome. Having a "Ripid Fire" from this series would be great... it's like trying to find 25th Eels all over again. I wonder if it would do any good to try in Maryland or DC? Anyone up for a Joe hunting road trip?

Zulu, I really liked what you did with Cross-Country. If you're trying to be realistic, you've got to have a Rebel Flag waving Southerner in your unit. They're all over the Army.
And as a white man from the Deep/Real South, I can tell you that a lot us us "good ole boys" still wave it, and we don't mean anything racist by it at all. For many of us it's about tradition, and our own heritage, and a sense of honor and culture that we're very proud of. Only 7% of Southerners owned Slaves prior to the Civil War, but a heck of a lot more of us fought the Yankees. It was sure about a lot else besides slavery for most of us... I tend to think it was mostly about what a lot of white southerners can agree on: we don't much like being told what to do... by the federal government or anyone else. The pictures looked great. Thanks for staying true to the character.

I don't know... I guess the topic of military attacks (regardless of which "side" perpetrates it) against non-combatants just really bothers me. I've spent some time in the Philippines as a volunteer working with victims of torture and civilians displaced by the conflict between government forces and the long-running Communist insurgency and when you see first-hand the absolutely horrible things these people go through, the idea that these "have to be done" just starts looking very inhuman. Make no mistake, I'm not some starry-eyed idealist who thinks we can convince everybody to play by the agreed-upon rules of armed conflict or that measures to spare civilians the horrors of conflict can effectively be enforced for any length of time. But at the same time, I don't think we should allow our notions of loyalty to country (or ideology) to take precedence over the basic foundations of justice and human decency. |

My problem is with the attacks on civilians. Enemy combatants, do whatever you want. It's war, it's dirty, and if the enemy doesn't play by the rules, then you need to throw the rulebook out (to an extent) as well.
Hama actually hit on something like this in the Declassified series. He had Stalker torturing the terrorist to find out where the bomb was. None of the other soldiers would do it, but Stalker knew he had to resort to that level in order to save the lives of the people under the threat of the bomb. I think the thing about the real Tiger Force that bothers me is the continued acts, and that they seemed to enjoy it. I'm okay with equal or greater reprisal attacks (they do it to us, we keep doing it to them worse until they realize it's not worth doing).

On another subject, I am seriously angry about this lack of RoC figures. Loose, I think you know what I mean. There are plenty of figures and vehicles on the shelves, but I have not seen one PIT Commando, Helix, RoC Para-Viper, RoC Eel, or General Hawk (not the one in the PIT). It's rediculous!

No sightings of that wave/collection in MD yet, that anyone has posted. Maybe this week.

Hey, with that new Target "attack on the PITT" 4 figure set, we're getting a Ripcord out of the A-Suit and R-Armor, he'll be in the urban camo and can fit in with the rest of the "squad".

All within a 20 min drive of each other.) His Targets released early too on the 5th. I wasn't able to look at Target this weekend so do they even have ROC on the shelves yet? Bealton? That's a hike ain't it. My wife is from Warrenton and that takes me like an hour to get there from Bailey's Crossroads. I only know of the 4 TRUs in Northern Virginia, and sounds like you hit them all. Target in Springfield mall seems to have a better Toy section. But I haven't checked. Haven't had the time to sneak away for that long. |

Has anybody gotten the TRU exclusive Firefly yet? He's pretty much perfect. I can't recommend him enough.
