I think this would be a great idea and a way to sure up homeland security they could even work with the border patrol which I think need some help. I have a feeling our southern border could really become a hot spot, it would make sense to have the coasties involved in missions. I know they carry guns on the ships, but it seems that they don't on the choppers

I really think the Coast Guard needs to beef up it's armaments if it's going to be a serious force in National Security. Some more offensive capabilities would be useful. A Special Operations unit would be a good asset for Domestic Security.

No kidding, the Coasties are supposed to be the protectors of the shorelines. They need to be able to deal with anything that comes there way.
The day may come where they have to do ship to ship warfare.

I couldn't agree more brother. They can do a lot at sea with their ships but should beef up their boarding parties and make them tougher. Hasbro should do more with them and add on to the 25th line.

To my mind, since the Coast Guard is a "military" organization, and they now come under the Department of Homeland Security - they should be the mainline line of defense at home. Sort of a Domestic specific branch of the military. Special operations against terrorism and drug smuggling should be a priority.
Troynos, after reading about your collection, I have a suggestion: get on ebay and buy some more Joes ;) Seriously, I think you're much better off using small patrols of 3-4 man teams (Patrols). You can designate these teams by specialty if you like, but I think it would work easier if you had as many specialties on each team as you can. Then your Patrols can work independently, or in coordination with one another. You will need a couple of "floaters" for the leadership: Hawk and maybe one more (Falcon is an obvious choice). Flint could lead a team. Duke could lead a team. Falcon COULD lead a team, but he might be better as Hawk's assistant because of his Rank and he can jump where he's needed. Just a suggestion. Hope that helps.

Oliverbox, I'm glad you mentioned the marine uniforms a few pages back. Although I've always liked the Navy whites, the marine uniforms are the sharpest of all the branches. I'm always impressed when I see one and this is why I think Gung-Ho v2 is my favorite version.

Machine Gunner. But Since I figured the gun was probably too big for him (the Backpack too) He got a handgun instead. That gun became the property of Steam-Roller. It really made no sense for him to be ducking through tight spaces with that thing. Tunnel Rat gets a Sidearm and a Flashlight. I later gave him an extra M203 like Leatherneck. Seemed to fit better plus he was definitely one of the best figures ever made. No Stupid Neon.
