Found the Joe's A-10
YOJOE.COM | A-10 Thunderbolt Yeah, I had high hopes for the T4 A-10 but what a waste it ended up being. If they were going to make it to small to fit a figure in the cockpit, at that point mold a pilot in so the cockpit doesn't look empty. Oh well, I got a Tiger Rat the other day, so I'm happy.

Hey, not to get on a religious topic but I thought this was funny. I was on a layover in Myrtle Beach the other night and went out for an evening jog. As I was running past a church, the sign in the yard said: "SWAT--Spiritual Warfare Training".
I have to admit this was one of the more creative ads I've seen to attract congregations. Another good one I saw awhile back said "Come inside out of the heat. We have Prayer Conditioning." |

Yeah, they got a repainted Rattler. It's pretty cool looking but hard as hell to find on ebay, at least at an affordable price. That's why I ordered the Terminator A-10. I figured this bad boy was going to be hard to find but then I saw photos of how small it is. The canopy itself doesn't open--I guess because it would be too tough to squeeze a figure through--but the entire top-half lifts back. Surprisingly you can still fit a 25th Joe in it, but the gear apparenlty is fixed down. Way to half-ass a potentially great product.

There's also a "rumor" that one of the 1:18 manufacturers will be coming out with an A-10 in the next three years - that one was started by a representative from one of those manufacturers, so hopefully it'll pan out.

Yeah, I saw one in the stores - it's tiny.
True Heroes had a decently sized A-10 for sale at TRU for a while that was a lot bigger (still not 1:18 scale, but closer - more like 1:24) that worked pretty well with Joes. There's also a "rumor" that one of the 1:18 manufacturers will be coming out with an A-10 in the next three years - that one was started by a representative from one of those manufacturers, so hopefully it'll pan out. PS. A Hind helicopter would be nice too and a Stryker and a harrier and...okay I'll stop there. |

Okay, so I just finished the two books I've been reading and for fun I re-read Black Hawk Down, but I now I'm itching for something about SOF. What do you think I should get? A book on Green Berets, Delta Force, SEALs? Most of my reading and research has revolved around the Rangers. I'd like to get something about SFOD-D but I've seen excerpts of Inside Delta Force and don't know if it goes into the kind of detail I'm interested in. Damn, if I could only build some nano spiders and hack into Ft Bragg, then I'd get all the intel I'd need to create my ultimate Joe Team.

I thought I'd throw this out there too. So SFOD-D was created in, what, 1977? It's supposed to be a top secret elite unit but everyone knows they exist. Granted there's much we still don't know about their operations but I'm sure they're not too far away from other military units in regards to tactics, etc. However, their main purpose is covert ops but since the public knows about them, who's to say another top secret unit, superior to Delta, isn't operating today. One that we actually don't know about. Say, perhaps, an Echo Force, except they're so secret, they don't even have a name and there is no traceable link to our military. They operate like the CIA and Delta but with absolute impunity and no one can claim them. And if they went rogue, there'd be serious hell to pay.
Wait...I hear something tapping at my window. Is it normal to see masked men with MP-5s hanging in rope harnesses outside your house? I did pay my power bill, didn't I? Last edited by Tanksmasher; 06-10-2009 at 01:38 PM.. |

What's the best way to hide things? In plain site. So Delta is the "public" face. You "let" people know Delta exists and that draws attention away from Echo.

Exactly. SFOD-D draws attention away from SFOD-E! Ouch! Sorry it's getting tough to type with my hands in flex cuffs while these guys in ski masks are ramsacking my closet. They must be looking for those Cuban cigars I smuggled into the States.
