Troy, have you designed any interior segments of your base yet? I think the Joes should have an indoor shooting range, swimming pool, obstacle course, a kick-ass weight room, maybe a boxing ring and a padded room for sparring. The baseball field is a great idea. Also, they should have a practice area outside with mock houses or something to practice clearing buildings and to conduct close quarter combat training. Maybe even an old aircraft fuselage to simulate hostage rescue.
There's going to be the main shooting range inside. Yeah, there will be a complete fitness center (olympic pool, weight room, etc..). I like the idea of the boxing mats, and I'll be sure to add the sparring areas. An obstalce course is a great idea, that'll be outside. I'm also thinking of doing some kind of rope course as well. Haven't done anything inside yet. Not sure yet how I want to do it. Working on the last building now. Then it's just finish up the surrounding wall and the rest of the landscape, then have to decide how much of the training stuff will be outside and how much of it I want to show. I'm debating about adding alot of detail to the buildings now or wait until later on. At the scale, can't really see too much. My idea is to do a PDF book of the base with pictures and accompanying text as well as a complete breakdown of the Joe team. So I may just do the details where I know I'll be taking "pictures" of the buildings. It'll save me some time and the drawing is becoming pretty large and cumbersome.

The last two buildings. Everything after this will be detailing, adding the training grounds, and the baseball field and other outdoor activity areas.
The Fort Maintenance Building: This is where the grounds crew equipment is kept and maintained, as well as the landscapers stuff, and whatever else is needed to maintain the Fort proper. The Utility 4-wheelers Building: Where the utility 4-wheelers are stored, maintained and charged. The 4-wheelers (there are more then what's shown in the outside shed) are used to get quick access around the base (Humvees are too), and to get across the grounds without having to follow the roads. I just remembered I have 1 more building, the Base Emergency Building (firetrucks, etc..).

In regards to the earlier comments about chaplains, Latter-Day Saints do not have "paid" clergy-our ministers (bishops) work regular jobs and perform their religious duties on Sunday. Therefore, in a unit like the Joe team, anyone could be a bishop-Ace, Steeler, Ambush, etc. Any LDS Joes would make do with any space they could get to perform Sunday services-I once went to "church" in a school!

It's interesting that all this chaplain talk is occurring on the 666th page of the topic. Weird.

Hey man, if that's your faith tradition that's cool. A lot of denominations use other buildings, especially when a congregation is just getting started. Military Chaplains will have worship just about anywhere. But about the Chaplain discussion... we took some pretty hard reprimands from the mods about that. I think it's best if we just leave the Chaplain Corps and the Joes as separate subjects. When it comes to the Religion/faith of the Joes, it gets to be a very sticky subject with the Mods.

I agree with Oliver, as religion is a touchy subject for the mods. But for Troys Ft Hama, having a chapel of some kind is realistic. I'm not sure what the rules on a base are about sharing space with other religious groups or do they take turns? Catholics at 9AM, Baptist at 10, LDS at 11 etc. Jews and 7th day adventists on Saturdays, and Muslims on Fridays. Yeah 666 wierd. I'm going to church now.

I was playing Rummy the other night and the first 3 cards I put down were 3 6s, 666, with 1 red and 2 black. The next 3 cards I put down were 3 9s, 666 to the person across the table from me, with 1 red and 2 black.
Yeah, guess we don't want the hair trigger around here pulled.

Incidentally, Alan Davis claims that the mainstream Marvel universe was designated as Earth-616 by David Thorpe in reference to the number of the beast. Take that as you will.

So where should I put the base? I'm thinking mid-west to southwest area. No snow. Can you imagine the headache if there was snow on the base...
