I agree. He works just fine as a Scout Sniper for me. I know nothing about the Sigma Six character, so that doesn't get in the way. It's the head that throws it off.

Also, how many dogfights would the Joes realistically get into? Especially unplanned ones? The jets would really be used for support in any major assaults.

Like I said, I think painting over the Sigma Six face was a mistake in this case. It looks good, but just off when compared to the rest of the faces you've done (since you usually go for a real face or a realistically sculpted 12 inch figure's head). I think the uniform is cool, I just have a hard time making it sync to the character. But a spandex bodysuit under a trenchcoat would be hard to capture while keeping him military themed.

Troy, you should put some sun shades or Rapid Deployment Hangars on your base, kind of like the ones at Eglin AFB, to cover your fighters.

Military Rapid Deployment Hangars, Sunshades, and Storage Solutions It has been bugging me how exposed all the jets and choppers are. Those would be perfect to cover 'em with. Great idea. Thanks.

Updated Spirit taking into account some of the suggestions in this thread (the prior pic has retroactively been updated, so I won't be reposting it here, just clear your browser cache and go back a page to view it). Also updated Spirit's educational credentials while I was at it, and you can read those additions by clicking on the Filecard Project link in my signature.
As for Long-Range, I think my enthusiasm for the idea of the revision led me to make some poor design decisions. I'll hold off on remaking him for now and move on to some other Joes. Last edited by zuludelta; 06-06-2009 at 12:02 AM.. |

Zulu, have you done a file card for Colton yet? I don't remember seeing one. If not, I think he's a must-do for your project.

I'll probably make Joe Colton eventually, just because the character has grown on me these past several months. I'll probably make him a retired Army officer now working as a senior consultant with the GI Joe team, though. I'm not fond of the idea of a small CT unit like the GI Joe team being directly "led" by a general.
