I didn't even think that it would be a real team jersey, just that it matched the movie Big Lob's jersey.
But should have known better. This is Zulu afterall. I'm really liking Big Lob.

What is it with the "sports" Joes and explosives? Hardball and Big Lob are grenadiers. Bazooka is a bazooka trooper. Grid-Iron has grenades.

The throwing aspect has a lot to do with it, plus the size, shape and/or the way that the explosive rounds travel is kind of akin to various kinds of balls.

After working through the Wilmington University the McDonalds All-American jerseys, I started going through the Euro leagues. Looks like I was on the right track (especially about where undrafted guys go), but it would have been a while before I made it to Australia.
Something to do with a balls = grenades design aesthetic, probably. They did that with Cobra too, designing the Frag-Viper's grenade-throwing gauntlet after a xistera. |

Yeah, I remember that. I always hated the Frag-Viper. The xistera is nice, sure can get a good throw and some distance with it, but how useful is it on a battlefield? Definately not a close quarters device.

As a native Atlanta area Hawks fan, please don't remind me of the sad state of our uniform colors. The new ones have NO sense of individual identity. *sigh*

Most NBA jerseys are horrible. But then again, the NBA is horrible.

Any of you guys ever wonder abut the Joes' taste in music?
There are certain obvious ones, of course, explicitly stated in one filecard or other: Rock 'n' Roll (heavy metal/rock), Thunder (heavy metal), Wild Bill (country & western), Budo (heavy metal). I know Hama used to play lead guitar for The Burning Sensations (not the LA-based one-hit wonder from the early days of MTV, but the New York classic rock band of the same name... GI Joe and Transformers colorist Nel Yomtov also played drums for the Burning Sensations) and the K-otics (where Hama played guitar alongside GI Joe penciler MD Bright on bass and colorist Nel Yomtov on drums) so it's probably a given that most "musical-minded" Joes would be biased towards guitar-centric genres. Always wondered if there were any Joes who were explicitly stated as being into jazz or hip-hop (and no, Roadblock's cartoon persona doesn't count). EDIT: Plus, when it comes to going hard, fast and loudly (also a character trait for many of the guys), heavy metal and hip hop are really the two popular kinds of music you think of. But as I mentioned before, hip hop didn't really see the kind of mainstream acceptance you'd need to be included into a toyline until the mid-90's (about the same time as the original ARAH line's death).
