So OB, feel like taking a trip to Charlotte. We can check out Heroes Con and you and Fogger can have a battle royale there ;) Kidding. We can all agree to disagree or disagree to agree. Just don't talk smack about Tunnel Rat or my man Falcon and we'll be just fine

I'm just starting to see those on the shelves here in the US Northeast. We seem to be the last to see stuff.

I bet your friend lives in Nanaimo or amybe Duncan (everybody I know who says they live "north of Victoria" actually live in Nanaimo or Duncan). I hear it's okay during the summers, but I've only ever been there during the winter months, and it's always been wet and cold every time I've been there (think a colder Tacoma with much more rain).

I saw the cobra 5-pack only once at Walmart but it's been long gone. The joe 5-pack and resolute packs are still lingering. I decided to pass on these for some of the HOH singles, although I really wanted to get that SE's backpack.

Oh, yeah we have that one. I thought you meant the TRU Viper 5-packs that got cancelled. Sorry. My misunderstanding.

Actually I just watched the GI Joe movie a few days ago for the first time since it came out and boy did they make Falcon into a doofus, but the cartoons were never a creditable source of characterization for me. Falcon is a Green Beret and that earns a lot of respect from me. These guys are as mentally tough as they are physically tough. They're intelligent, versatile and covert.

This is what stopped Fyrefly and myself from dusting this off after DDP lost the license (DDP took the initial setup and some other details of this project and wrecked it with Reloaded after telling Tim and myself that they weren't interested).
I've been thinking about trying my hand at the comic book thing (either writing or doing art, preferably both) again eventually. The thing is, at least here in North America, there's not much of a viable market for comic books (most small publishers run a money-losing operation) and the chances of a virtual outsider like me getting a crack at an established licensed property are virtually nil. Any comic book project will have to be funded out of pocket (which I just can't afford) unless I get an arts grant from the government or get an outside investor to help me out (fat chance of either happening... hard to convince them to put up the funding when the market for small publisher comics is already limited and by all indications continues to shrink). |
