I don't know for sure what name the Wet-Down character will be under, they're just calling him that on the front page news item. I think it's a good chance he'll be called that (and I never liked the name either) since it's so obscure. I'm surprised no one called him RoC Torpedo or RoC Wet-Suit.
We've already seen the RoC Deep-Six (the awesome Torpedo repaint) and now this guy. Both are kick-ass and can't wait to get them. I'm only calling it Paratrooper Scarlett cause it looks like she's got parachute gear on. Either way, I want that figure. I like the new colors on the Snow Job as well. The gray/white camo and the spot of color here and there. Makes an already cool figure even cooler. I can't wait. This RoC stuff is great.

Pretty much:
Wetting-down - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Not sure if I'd call him a SEAL as much as a diver. ;) We are getting some sweet ass diver figures in RoC and the Shipwreck makes a great SEaL (took 'em long enough...). So with Torpedo, 7-pack Wet-Suit, SRO Torpedo, RoC Deep-Six and now RoC Wet-Down, we have the makings of a kick-ass Joe dive team.

Here's my daily filecard contribution for the day:
Spearhead & Super Trooper notes: - Super Trooper is probably the most radical departure from the original I've posted here so far, at least in terms of how I've re-written his specialties and training. Instead of taking cues from the original filecard and updating his appearance and training to reflect the "spirit" of the original filecard, I went in the opposite direction, re-writing his training history based on the original toy's appearance. I think in this instance, the character's appearance is actually the more salient feature as opposed to his filecard. To me, Super Trooper without his shield would just not be Super Trooper. With that in mind, I started going through the career fields that would conceivably require an officer carry a ballistic shield on his person during the nomal course of his duties. And really, the only one that would make sense would be to make him an officer in the Military Police Corps. He's not just any MP officer, though, but you'll have to read his filecard to see how I've tried to make him a super cop. And that isn't just any old ballistic shield. It's a compact version of the Baker Batshield, a lightweight and portable ballistic shield that's designed for use in CQB engagement. - As for Spearhead, I've redesigned him as an ANGLICO-trained USMC Forward Observer. Read his filecard to get all the details of his new background. The filecards, of course, can be accessed by clicking on the Filecard Project link in my signature. |

Once again, your ability to make something useful and unique out of really crappy Hasbro offerings is commendable. Your version of GI Joe really looks like a joint service strike force.

Spearhead Yes another Marine-fication. He's great. Pointman was so useless. I figure every Joe is a pointman at some point. But Forward Observer seems so much more useful. |

you know I think if Hasbro goes and turns some of its characters into Marines I think it could only add to the storyline. Then there can always be that competition between the services that keeps them proud. We got a small sample of that with Leatherneck and Wetsuit and a little bit of Beachhead, but its so Ranger Lopsided it would be hard to compete.

Have y'all seen this new RoC "PIT Commando"? It is a GREAT figure with a lot of great accessories. It almost seems funny to troop build a SWAT Team, but if people want to use this figure for a Steel Brigade unit, that's a good use.
I was thinking that by itself, not as a troop builder, this figure reminds me of the 12" Rapid Fire figure, who was an Urban Commando. The original 3.75 Rapid Fire was a character with really great/interesting qualifications, but a simply terrible costume. Using this guy as a new Rapid Fire figure could work really well... or with that shield, he could be the new, updated Super Trooper. What do y'all think?

I can't wait for the RoC stuff to drop. I'm getting more excited daily with all the pictures and everything.
What about that Quarrel/Scarlett repaint? A little weird that it's a "paratrooper Scarlett" when Quarrel was a driver but I've always loved the Quarrel colors. And we're getting a RoC Wet-Down. That's pretty weird. Awesome looking figure though. But to make a Wet-Down? Makes me think we'll see some of the later and lesser known RAH Joes pop up in RoC form. I think this increases the chances that we'll see a Barrell Roll and Crosshair. As cool as it is to see those outfits revisited, I am slightly disappointed that Hasbro didn't keep them as their original character names. It would have been better if they had been blond and had been named Glenda and Quarrel... It's always nice to have a couple extra female characters.

It's worth getting just for the accessories alone. The shield is a tad undersized, but I can live with it. I can see at least 4 or 5 easy mods out of the figure. |
