I think you're right. I kept looking at him wondering who it was, barely recognizable. But I think it is Peyton.
Damn, now I have to hate Zulu's Clutch. I'm a Patriots-Man and Peyton is the enemy.

It's actually Jesse James: celebrity mechanic and husband to Sandra Bullock (great, now I can't get "Jesse's Girl" out of my head). |

Really? Looks nothing like him. Weird.
How he got Sandra Bullock I'll never know..

So I'm going to use an F-15 for a Skystriker.
What can I use for a Conquest? I'm not even going to show a Phantom X-19, that'll be kept in it's hanger under lock and key, lol.

look for the X-29 since that is what it's based off.

Alternatively, you could go with a Sukhoi Su-47: Although the SU-47 was an experimental plane meant as a technology demonstrator like the X-29, it was also a functional fighter jet. It had hardpoints on its wings for missiles, a 30 mm cannon, and an internal bay for more ordnance. There's also rumour of the plane currently being offered by the Sukhoi company to foreign governments as an actual honest-to-goodness fighter. You can rationalize the Joe team having one as part of an OPFOR deal (the same reason that Fort Bliss has an operational Russian Mil Mi-24 "Hind" helicopter on premises), although in the case of the Joes, the OPFOR thing is just a cover to allow them to use a non-DoD approved aircraft. The other thing is that it might be a lot easier to find a model of the Su-47 in the 3D Warehouse than it is to find an X-29, the physical specs of the Su-47 are a lot easier to find online and there are a lot of actual toy models of it. |

There's models for both of 'em. Better Joe looking (more military) of the SU-47. The X-29 models look like the one in the first picture of the Wiki, white with red trim.
None of 'em have landing gear down though. Oh well, give me a chance to work on making my own. I can copy the landing gear from one of the other planes and make it work good enough.

Hey Troynos, I love what you're doing with the base. I was wondering though and forgive me if you've already said this and I missed a post but...
were you planning a cover story for the base, like in the old comics where the Pitt's cover was the Chaplain's Assistant's motor pool?. I ask, because in my Joeverse, the cover story for the Pitt is that it's the base for a joint forces military band. This way, they can conveniently explain loud noises etc due to band practice, need for lots of equipment etc. I don't know too much about the US military (being Australian by way of Canada) but to me, it seems more plausible than being Chaplain's Assistants. The team already has a large roster of bandsman; Thunder (Drums) Shockwave (Choir) Depth Charge (Glockenspiel) Crazy Legs (Piano) and Rock n Roll and Budo are guitar players according to their file cards. |
