That sounds great. Let's shoot for July sometime. I'm looking forward to it.

I wouldn't mind seeing Low-Light with some interchangeable parts. For example, if they gave him a removable watch cap and a boonie that you could switch, that would be cool. His goggles could also be removable. He could have an assault vest with the red shoulder pad, or a guille suit to put on. I suppose what I'm proposing is that they could provide enough urban accessories that he could be outfitted to look like his classic figure. He could also be given additional accessories that would allow him to function in a different environment.
He would need a few different weapons: Sniper rifle of some kind, Assault rifle with silencer/suppressor, silenced pistol, knife. I think they could make a really versatile figure that has the option to be outfitted like the original, but meets other mission parameters as well. Just a theory, but given his status as "Delta Operator" he would need to be a pretty well rounded soldier.

Ha. I didn't think anyone would notice that. I love it when you guys get the little real-world touches I throw in. It makes all the effort and research I put into mixing real world militaria with the more fiction-based elements of GI Joe worth it.

I've been inspired to re-do my image of Chuckles after reading GI Joe: Cobra #3:
It's an awesome comic book, but I'm glad it's just a mini-series. It's difficult for any writer, even one as good as Christos Gage, to maintain that level of craft and taut storytelling over an extended period of time, and I'd rather we get a solid 6 issue mini-series rather than an ongoing series that inevitably fizzles out and limps to an artificially extended run unworthy of its initial story. What I'd like to see is that once this mini-series ends, IDW puts Gage on another mini-series spotlighting a different character (sort of how Dark Horse Comics keeps their Star Wars-based mini-series fresh and engaging, both for the creative teams and for the readers). You guys see those new Target exclusive small vehicle packs? Grand Slam with a glider, Snake-Eyes with a motorcycle (an Ariashakage Cycle... gag me please.... ugh), Air-Viper Commando (the repainted AVAC) with CLAW, and EEL with Wave Crusher. I kind of like how Hasbro is incorporating the VvV and SpyTroops vehicle molds into the RoC line. It's kind of taking the various eras of Joe and making them into one all encompassing line. It's also a chance for those that never got into VvV and SpyTroops to see some of those vehicles (the Sting Raider is coming as a sub, and the Skysweeper is now the Cobra Crimson Hydra jet). I want that EEL though. I love the colors. I may pass up on the AVAC (don't like the colors) and the SE (what do I need another SE riding a motorcycle for?). But no matter how many times they package him with Jet-packs and gliders.. Grand Slam will always be an artillery guy to me.

I'll be bending the leg by then, so that should work.

That would be awesome for a Sideshow Low-Light.

I can't wait for the new Eels! Does anyone know how much these will cost? About Grand Slam, I have a theory: He's basically getting Barrel Roll's original glider. How many times have we discussed the need for snipers to have spotters? What if Grand Slam works as Barrel Roll's spotter? Think about it. They could glide in together. Grand Slam would be great at judging distance, figuring out wind speed... everything that a spotter does. Plus, Grand Slam could also act as a forward observer and call in Artillery from a concealed position if needed. Barrel Roll and Grand Slam could fly into a position days prior to Joe advancing into an Area. They could set up a good hide that offered cover and concealment, and then they could provide recon/intel, and cover by direct fire (barrel roll's sniper rifle) or indirect fire (Grand Slam's Forward Observation for Artillery). I think it could work really well. Just my opinion. It will also be nice to be able to buy some extra Air-Vipers with Claws.

Eric Haney told a really interesting story about being sent on a Sniper mission in his book, "Inside Delta Force". He and another Operator were tasked to Beruit or some God forsaken place in the mid 80's to help the Marines. It seems that the American embassy was being fired upon by two shooters with AK-47's. Normally the Marines would have been more than capable of handling the situation, but their snipers couldn't return fire because the guys with the AK-47s were using large crowds of civilians for cover and concealment. Haney and the other Operator show up at the embassy and draw 4 days worth of MREs. They take their rifles with Delta's specially designed ammunition (that was designed to drop a human being without the round exiting the skull at up to 400 yards.) and went out and built a hide site. The two men stayed in position for 4 days. They never left the hide site. They peed in bottles and pooped in bags. They never left the hide site. After 4 days, the local shooters finally showed up in a crowd and prepared to fire on the Marines at the embassy. The Delta Operators dropped these dirtbags within seconds before the AK-47s could even be fired. No one else was hurt. Pretty amazing.
