Hey man, it's cool to have any Joe from your hometown. I'm just saying, Airtight is not the coolest Joe on the team. I mean, Witchita gets Flint and St. Louis gets Duke... New Haven, the home of Yale University, gets Airtight.
My home State gets Roadblock, but he's from Biloxi, which is nowhere near my hometown. Alabama gets Beach-Head, he's from Auburn which is very close to Ft. Benning. I'm just saying it's cool have a Commando-type of Joe to represent your State. The Combat Support and Combat Service Support Joes are great, and would make a wonderful secondary State representative, but when you only get one... Yeah, you're right. Seems like there is at least one other guy from CT, but isn't it a cold weather vehicle driver? Strecher is from Hartford CT I have 5 from my state and none are too shabby. I technically live in the City of Alexandria (Gen Flagg) but have an Arlington (Salvo) address. One of my Favorites (Mercer V2) is from Richmond. Keel-Haul is from Charlottesville and Wet-Down is from Norfolk. All are high ranking and have excellent figures. I'm lucky. Yet I was born in Puerto-Rico and we have no one born there. Zap is Puerto-Rican, so that counts in my book. |

Troynos, really nice work on the base design. That's coming along nicely and I can tell you've put a great deal of effort into it.
By the way, guys. I recently read "Gates of Fire" by Steven Pressfield. It's a historical novel about the Spartans. Seriously, check it out. It was a great book. It got me thinking: "Spartan" would be a great codename for a Joe. Steven Pressfield, who happens to be a fellow Blue Devil, is also a former U.S. Marine. As many of you know, I have been advocating a Marine Officer character for some time. "Spartan", a Marine Officer who was trained at the Citadel, could be a great character. He could even have a Greek ancestry and a Greek last name in his file card. Let me ask you guys a question, maybe this is more of a pure file card issue: Who is tougher, the Crimson Guard or the Iron Grenadiers? Like Jarhead, or Bulldog, or Devil Dog. My thought on who is tougher I'd say Crimson Guards. They seem to be more motivated, and possible better trained, plus highly educated. I see IG as well led salesman who are inspired to do as much as possible. I see the CGs as fanatics who are also given preferential treatment and help contol Cobra for Cobra Commander. There is no room for failure. I always wondered in the comics during the Cobra Civil War CGs joined forces with Serpentor, but I saw them as totally loyal to Cobra Commander. Maybe they knew it wasn't the real Commander, since all the Fred's know what each other are doing. |

Blizzard is cool, and I like the figure except for the thick plastic helmet. I'm going to try and pick up a Blizzard v2, which looks a little cooler.
YOJOE.COM | Blizzard YOJOE.COM | Blizzard Then I'll decide which one stays Blizzard and which one becomes someone else.

So maybe using weight as the classification is what makes it harder to understand? If said that Lifeline could drive any military vehicle that is non-special purpose (unarmored Humvee) would that be better?
I see military vehicles has being special purpose (transport, combat, emergency, etc..) and non-special purpose (get-around-the-base, etc..). The military does it by weight, which does make sense, but maybe it'll be easier to grasp why the lighter weight classification if was done by purpose? I'm just hoping that the combination of the listing of specialty training information and the vehicle qualifications list can provide readers with a detailed enough picture of the characters' driving abilities. I hear ya Zulu. The confusion just comes in when thinking in terms of civilian classifications and military classifications. Which are two different worlds.

I think the updated and new Marines are my favorites so far. Really liking Muskrat and Recondo, as well as Leatherneck.
In terms of which character received the best update, I'd have to go with Barbecue. He looks awesome and has a purpose now.

YOJOE.COM | Blizzard YOJOE.COM | Blizzard Then I'll decide which one stays Blizzard and which one becomes someone else. Speaking of too-similar characters, anybody else find it strange that Snow-Job and Windchill are both Olympic biathletes? What are the chances of two Olympic Team members in the same sport enlisting in the Armed Forces and being assigned to the same unit? Just adds more credence to our theory that a bunch of the later characters were intended to be updates of older characters, but were renamed for some purpose (probably tied in with marketing). Thanks. I don't know why but Barbecue was one of the characters I was obsessed with making relevant when I started this project. Probably because I always had a soft spot for the character (I always imagined him as being like Booger from "Revenge of the Nerds").
