Maybe they were supposed to be Hebrew in origin?

That is a good question. But then again most of the Ninja Force guys seem to be Italian-Americans or maybe mixed Italian, based on their last names. Bushido's filename doesn't sound very Japanese either. Lloyd Goldfine. Maybe he's a Krav Maga expert.

Or it could just be a convenient naming/ranking system used as a subsitute for the standard NATO phonetic alphabet (alpha, bravo, charlie, delta, echo, foxtrot, etc.) Last edited by zuludelta; 05-11-2009 at 04:21 PM.. |

I guess we need to ask Larry. I sort of like how America's Elite turned Aleph into Incisor. He had alot to do with the comics. And with the Storm Shadow comics they had the Night Creeper Leader as a separate guy. Night Creeper leader showed up at the end of the Marvel Run and he seemed ill-conceived and just thrown in there. Sort of like Sen-Tien (the guy that took over the Red Ninjas)
And where was Slice and Dice in all this? |

The Nightcreepers appeared at just about the same time I was losing interest in the Joe comics and toys so I don't really know that much about them. I liked their design, though, and thought they were a lot more interesting visuals-wise than most of the post-1988 characters (or maybe my opinion of them was buoyed up by the fact that the only time I'd seen them in the comics was when they were drawn by Lee Weeks, easily one of my favourite comic book artists at the time).

I'm thinking this is the reason.

So I added a 2nd Barracks building. Most of my Delta Teams are stationed on the Flagg, but there will be rooms for them on the base, so I had to add a 2nd building. There are barracks in some of the other buildings on the compound. The Hanger Complex will have the Pilot's Barracks for instance. So this 2nd building will also have the non-officer's rec area and the compounds pool and weight rooms. This 2nd building can sleep 432 non-officers (2 to a 15x15 room).
So I'm up to being able to sleep 816 non-officers and 150 officers in the buildings I have now. So I'm going to get all the buildings down before I go back and add detail to them all. I'll do things here and there, but going to concentrate on getting the entire compound down before worry about making sure all the little things are on all the buildings. I'll be a long time getting all the little details down.

Wow, that is looking terrific Troynos!. Very impressive.
I never understood why all the joe Ninjas were westerners or even eurasian (except Jinx). Did someone at Hasbro think that kids wouldn't buy a figure if they had non american sounding names? Given that Tripwire's file name was Tormod Skoog (?) I tend to think that the folks at Hasbro decided to throw their own names in for fun with little regard to their authenticity. The name 'Baducci' (Nunchuk and someone else) comes up too often to be a coincidence. Funny, isn't it? someone at Hasbro threw some stuff in for $hits and giggles, thinking "Ah its kid's stuff, who's gonna care?" Many years later...WE DO!!!! heh heh, I love this board. |

And here are some more updated images: Steeler, Short-Fuze, Mainframe, Rock 'n' Roll The updated filecards can be found by clicking on the link in my signature. That's a combat commander's tactical IR pointer/designator in Steeler's left hand, for those of you wondering what it is (I've designated him as the team's Fire Support Officer, hence the IR designation gear). Rock 'n' Roll is a simple update using Master Thespian's suggestiosn that I roll up his sleeves similar to the original toy. Also added a helmet to get closer to the original toy design. |

Zulu this is by far one of the most impressive and awesome undertakings by a GIJoe Fan. I can't imagine when it's all done. I'll have less to look forward to that's for sure. Rock'n'Roll works with the sleeves. I think he could go with or without the helmut. What else did you change with the others? Making a Steeler Fire-Support Specialist is a great idea, since it's hard to fit in the drivers. But how are the drivers going to fit in with you Command structure? We haven't seen Clutch or Crankcase, or Heavy Metal. I guess you can add the jeep drivers to the Command element like and make Heavy metal part of Steeler's team along with Thunder.
What's the cut off? 88 right? Wow you still have a lot of the less known characters to do. I can't wait to see your interpretations of how best to add some of them. Sgt Slaughter, Hit & Run, Repeater. Although any improvement on Armadillo, Windmill, Lightfoot and Wildcard works but they probably don't fit in the structure. What about Super Trooper and Starduster? They could fit and they need a makeover badly. Hey Where is Snake-Eyes? I thought you had done one before. Looking through the Gallery I see Stalker got his E-8 which is a perfect fit for him. Airborne says he's from Ariona, (just proof-reading) |
