Read her filecard. She's definately a smart and talented operative. Ignoring that she went to schools that being female wouldn't let her.. She's Ranger qualfied, airborne qualified, a marine trained sniper, counterintelligence and a trained martial artist. I think she'd make W-3 in 9 years, if it even took her that long.

Good point, I just might do that. Although I'll probably avoid it with certain characters whose "core" as I imagine it might be ruined with the promotion. One person I think in need of a promotion is Scarlett. I'd like to bump her up to CI Tech (the team's lead counterintelligence expert). I don't think "promoting" her to W-3 (the standard rank for CI technicians assigned to the Ranger Regiment) would age her too much... assuming she's one terribly smart and talented operative, she could make W-3 in maybe 9 years.

I'm thinking of doing the same with Chuckles. I've always seen him depicted as their top investigator, so it shouldn't be too much of a stretch to see him bumped up into the warrant officer ranks. |

Yeah, Chuckles should be up there.
Yeah, I know Scarlett has to go thru all that, but she's damn good and qualified. She definately deserves a promotion. I like how IDW is using her.

But yeah, assuming she did get to W-3 in the shortest time possible, that would still make her not much older than your average E-6. I don't know how Snake-Eyes would feel about dating a warrant officer, though I know "romantic" fraternization between active-duty commissioned officers and enlisted personnel is discouraged as a matter of "informal" Army policy, although I don't know if that policy applies to relationships between warrant officers and enlisted personnel as well (probably not, if we assume that Flint and Lady Jaye's relationship is kosher by military standards). |

So I took a break from the rest of the base and decided to concentrate on doing a model up of one of the most important "rooms" in the complex:
The Mission Control Center This isn't where the day-to-day operations of the base are run from, this is where the Joes missions and intelligence is gathered/analyzed/planned/watched/etc.. The big wall in front and the side walls will be covered in monitors (the overall status board and various other things). Computer terminals will fill the space in front of those. There's a catwalk that leads out over the computer area, and there will be stairs leading down. The 2nd floor back is from the bottom of the picture up: Mainframe's Office, Col. Courage's Office (Hawk's XO), Hawk's Office and then Colton's Office. Bottom level is Scoop's Office (I use Scoop as my mission control officer). After that is the Night Shift's Office (the 2nd shift MC Officer). Then there's 3 "Visiting Officer" offices. I'm not sure if I'm going to add office's for Flint and other squad leaders. The big space down at the bottom is the mission prep room. This is where Hawk or Courage give the mission briefings and debriefings. I'm not sure how I'll lay out the Mission Control Room yet. Computers on one side and analysis tables and such on the other. The final "image" will be similar to this, with walls and ceilings missing so can see into the overall room. It'll of course be finished off and look nicer then this massing model. And this is part of the underground "PIT" complex.

I don't know if it'll be helpful or not, but take a look at some of the requested specs for living, messing, and administrative spaces in the DoD's JHSV (Joint High-Speed Vessel) project:
JHSV Program I think those can easily be adapted into a compact subterranean command post like the PIT. |

Just got the one new image and filecard today and a minor update to Hawk, but I think they both turned out okay:
Also, the files that I've updated, taking into account Master Thespian's and Troynos' suggestions (thanks guys!) are now up. Just click on the link in my signature (the part that reads "The Filecard Project") to view them. Last edited by zuludelta; 05-09-2009 at 06:45 AM.. |

Ah, Zuludelta, you never cease to amaze me. Great job on Lifeline. You kept the basic look but made him much more realistic. Even his education matches up with that of real PJs and EMTs. Whose head did you use? It looks like either Quentin Tarrantino or Ashton Kutcher.
