I brought it up once before but it didn't get much tread. But I find Claymore's to be one of the best. It has so many aspects to it. A little background, a little military background and skills. Some sense of how tough he is. Duke's, Flint's and Falcon's are good.
Leatherneck's puts a smile on my face I like Duke's first file card, and Flint's is well done. Falcon's is great. I also like Torpedo's and Beach Head's. Skydive's is pretty good. And even though it's a little corny, I like Low-Light's.

PM me the pic or send me a link. It'd be neat to be able to use a face not in my collection of disembodied internet heads
It is a pretty silly and impractical colour combination (the black work shirt and the ACU camo pants), now that you mention the clash. I don't know if there's a way around it while still keeping the character faithful to Flint's visual, though. I'm afraid if I stray too far from the original design (as wonky as it is), he'll be easily mistaken for that other guy with a shotgun and a beret Wow, nice site if a bit slow to load... he should really parse out the images over several pages instead of having them load all in one go. That guy really loves his Action Force, though. Very interesting, well-written, and comprehensive write-ups, although a bit lacking in the technical information that I personally love reading about. |

Yeah, I like Claymore's as well. The only issue I have with Claymore's is that it doesn't explain how he got his Commission as an Officer. I did some checking and Dartmouth does not offer ROTC. So I'm guessing he must have gone through OCS, but it isn't stated clearly.

I don't know if there's one filecard I can say is the "best" but I like almost all of the early ones (1982 to 1985) and some of the ones that came out in 1986 and 1987. Personal favourites are Torpedo (1983), Gung-Ho (1983), Footloose (1985), Mainframe (1986) and Outback (1987).

Claymore, especially given his extensive work overseas, makes a lot of sense. Super Trooper would be a great candidate, and I think Rapid Fire would be a great choice as well. Falcon's work with "Blue Light" might give him the "Counter-Terrorist" credentials to be a very strong applicant. Psyche-Out might be good.

Yeah, it reads like a Soap Opera instead of a file card. I like Law & Order's. It's pretty funny. Gung-Ho's and Muskrats seems similar to me. I like Recondo's.
Troynos is right; the early ones seem to be the best. Then again, Troynos is right about a lot of stuff.

By 87 the great filecard structures are over. The first two years are the best as a whole, then we start getting more BS than substance. By 87 the"qualified expert" has disappered. Sad.

Shipwreck v1 is pretty good.

Yeah, it's weird how things changed that year. The Cartoon in season 2 was pretty amazing. I watched Season 2 recently, and considering the fact that it was a 20 minute commercial with a target audience of boys aged 5-13, it was pretty amazing. They were hunting terrorists all over the world. Some of the remarks they make, and the places they go, and the issues they deal with... it had some pretty serious undertones.

Yeah, the early filecards were really great. I learned most of my American geography from looking up the birthplaces on my atlas. Some of the flavour text, like Outback's acronym detailing one and Beach Head's "he doesn't get mad he gets even," I can still recite from memory (not the best trick for impressing the ladies, but it will make you insta-buddies with most any male who grew up during the 1980s ).
