As far as I know, there aren't any official restrictions preventing women from applying for the Tactical Air Command & Control specialty in the Air Force (although the physical requirements are above and beyond those found in "open to females" Air Force jobs... the minimum push-up requirement is 50 reps in 2 minutes). That being said, I don't think any female TACs would ever be attached to an infantry unit due to the Department of Defense's policy of not allowing females into positions with a high likelihood of engaging in combat.

Hi all, Been lurking here for a few days. I'm a member of some other boards and came across this thread. I just had to join up and say thank you to everyone who's posted; especially Oliverbox, Loose Cannon, Troynos, Fogger et al.This has been the best thread I've ever read.
I've been a joe fan off and on since 1984. I live in Australia so it's hard to get access to joe product. Thank goodness I have Canadian relatives, I used to buy up big everytime I visited relatives before eBay. I really enjoy all the discussions surrounding ranks, joeverses, cobra organizations etc. I'm slowly reading every post on this page..I'm up to page 250 so I should catch up soon. Thanks once again to all posters, It's been informative and thought provoking. Will post more once I catch up. |

Okay, this will seem like an odd question to you guys but...I've got a fair collection of joe stuff 1982-2006. I haven't got any 25th stuff (mostly because they only showed up recently here in Oz) and was put off by the scale change. I understand that the 25th is 4" instead of 3 3/4. Is the difference that noticeable? do the 25th figures "play well" with RAH older joes?. I know there are vehicle scale problems.

Welcome aboard, Tyroc! Yes, the differences are there between ARAH and 25th. The new figs are slightly taller and a bit sleeker. They can "play" with some of the newer ARAH figures a little better. As far as vehicles, there's a thread on here somewhere that discusses the compatibility of vehicles with the 25th figures.

i was just looking through the filecard archive and found Agent Faces. Made me wonder how many joes appear in Cobra uniforms.
Thought it would be funny if someone made a storyline where it turns out there is no Cobra just all Joes dressed up like Cobras. Faces V2 in CG gear Flint V13 in Blueshirt Shipwreck V6 w/ cape & armor Seems to me that Flint and some other guys were in CG gear too but I cant find them. Who else am i missing? |

Not a bad group at all. Bazooka didn't make it. I'm surprised we didn't see some other popular ones in the group. Like a Dusty, but maybe that is better if they don't have any environmental specialists. Just a core group that can fight anywhere. I wonder if that truly is Alpine? Makes me want to rethink a core group of 20 would be. Hawk is missing but I'm not sure that is a bad thing with a team this small. This group is pretty solid.
Love the hypersonic transports idea. I assume there is room for Ace. Since we've only seen 19 characters and one has to be replaced already, what 2 joes would you add to round out the group to 20? Me: Ice cream Soldier and Scoop. No J/K Falcon; Outback; Recondo; Shockwave; Chuckles; Lowlight; Dial-Tone; Clutch? Hard to say. Out of the group we've been shown, most of them have fairly developed personalities from the comics or cartoons, except Airborne. He is the one i'm most interested in seeing more of. But since they're not afraid to take head shots, I'd go Lowlight and Outback. I'm loving Gung-Ho. If they make a Gung-Ho and Roadblock like those two, I'd be set. To me they seemed like buddies and I've always wanted to see them on more missions together. The Fu-Manchu team. I love the fact that he is indeed Roadblock and not Heavy Duty. |

Welcome to the Tank Tyroc. I found that it's made me streamline my collection. I too have a substantial ARAH style collection. But all that Army building I did, makes me refuse to give up entirely on the ARAH, VvValor, Spy troops I have. But they look so much better for the most part, but what I can't stand is the limited mobility some of the 25 figures have. Some of the figures are considerably taller, but not all, so I don't have a problem with that. I have about 120 25th figures but 1500 O-ring figures so I'm willing to overlook it. |
