Isn't the "cast" for the Joes in Resolute an almost near perfect group?
Duke, Flint, Beachhead, Stalker, Tunnel Rat, Wild Bill, Airborne, Lady Jaye, Scarlett, Cover Girl, Doc, Gung-Ho, Rock 'n Roll, Roadblock, Alpine (if that is who he is), Shipwreck, Snake Eyes and Spirit?

She's there. See her in episode 3 (watch it on Youtube) standing next to Flint in one of the scenes.
Very closely resembles her vintage look, green jumpsuit and black hat.

Not a bad group at all. Bazooka didn't make it. I'm surprised we didn't see some other popular ones in the group. Like a Dusty, but maybe that is better if they don't have any environmental specialists. Just a core group that can fight anywhere. I wonder if that truly is Alpine? Makes me want to rethink a core group of 20 would be. Hawk is missing but I'm not sure that is a bad thing with a team this small. This group is pretty solid. Love the hypersonic transports idea. I assume there is room for Ace. Since we've only seen 19 characters and one has to be replaced already, what 2 joes would you add to round out the group to 20? Me: Ice cream Soldier and Scoop. No J/K Falcon; Outback; Recondo; Shockwave; Chuckles; Lowlight; Dial-Tone; Clutch? Hard to say. Out of the group we've been shown, most of them have fairly developed personalities from the comics or cartoons, except Airborne. He is the one i'm most interested in seeing more of. But since they're not afraid to take head shots, I'd go Lowlight and Outback. I'm loving Gung-Ho. If they make a Gung-Ho and Roadblock like those two, I'd be set. To me they seemed like buddies and I've always wanted to see them on more missions together. The Fu-Manchu team. I love the fact that he is indeed Roadblock and not Heavy Duty. |

New stuff (click on the pics to read the filecards):
Notes: That's a jutte (or jitte) that I've got Budo holding in his left hand. It's a samurai-era truncheon that's still used by some police units in Japan... the Osaka Police Department's Martial Arts Attack Team (the most awesome name for a special police unit, BTW) uses them a lot. I decided to give him that instead of the sai the original toy came packaged with, since it's more in keeping with the CQB role I envision for him. Also, some new filecards to go with the older pics I've shown in this thread: Leatherneck filecard Mutt filecard Roadblock filecard Rock 'n' Roll filecard Tunnel Rat filecard Wild Bill filecard Last edited by zuludelta; 04-19-2009 at 04:17 AM.. |

Apparently Dial-Tone is female and already there. The website intel posts says "Dial-Tone hacked" and "She" so... That's a good list. I'd love to see any of 'em. Lowlight would look kick ass with the Resolute tact vests.

I love how you added the security guys to the AirForce. Mutt and Shockwave. I made a Frankensteined AirForce Security guy back in the day, because I saw a Air Force poster with some guy pulling Guard Duty. I thought that was about the only use for an enlisted Air Force Joe. His name was Blackbox. But I really wasn't aware of the Air Forces special Operations Command and what they do.

- Pararescuemen ("PJs"): conduct combat search and rescue efforts in hostile and denied territory. In terms of practical physical conditioning requirements, this is one of the most, if not the most stringent in the US spec-ops community. PJs are graduates of Combat Dive School, are jump-qualified (most are checked out for HALO/HAHO drops), and are nationally certified emergency medicine technicians (most, if not all, hold the rank of EMT-P... the highest EMT proficency ranking in the American civilian healthcare system). - Combat Controllers ("CCTs" or less popularly, "Scarlet Berets"): these paratroopers serve as the spearhead of many spec-ops missions. These airmen serve in the traditional pathfinding role (establishing drop zones and pickup zones, landing sites, etc. in austere, hostile environments) but beyond that, they're also trained to engage hostile targets (like say, assaulting and taking over an enemy airfield) in order to do their pathfinding duties. Many of them are also cross-qualified as ETACs/JTACs (Enlisted Terminal Attack Controllers/Joint Terminal Attack Controllers). - Combat Weathermen: these guys don't get a lot of pub but they serve an integral role in conventional and unconventional special operations. These paratroopers are certified meteorologists who conduct weather surveys deep in enemy territory in advance of combat troops, and they're also trained to engage in limited armed reconnaissance. To the casual observer, it doesn't sound too "special" or significant, but consider how much weather conditions can affect everything in a mission, from transportation, to the distribution of emplacements, cover, etc. Besides the above three communities, there are also two other specialties that are often linked with USSOCOM/AFSOC: - Tactical Air Controllers: many people confuse these guys with Combat Controllers, but they actually serve distinct roles. Tactical Air Controllers' duties don't officially involve direct engagement with the enemy (unlike CCTs). What they do is serve as Air Controllers in a tactical capacity, ensuring that the guys on the ground get air support when and where they need it, whilst minimizing the potential for friendly fire incidents. Many TACs are attached to Army infantry units (including the 75th Ranger Regiment) and advance with the infantry (this is where the confusion about their combat role comes from) but direct kinetic engagement is only an incidental part of their job. That being said, many TACs do go on to cross-train in Airborne School, Ranger School and Pathfinder School, becoming "spec-ops capable" at least in practice, although officially they're not a part of the USSOCOM/AFSOC community. - USAF Security Forces Phoenix Raven Program: Phoenix Raven is a relatively new program, whose purpose is to train select USAF Security Forces personnel (both male and female, making it somewhat unique among "special" Air Force units) in advanced anti-terrorism and force protection doctrine, particularly as it pertains to airfield and installation security. While not a part of AFSOC per se, many Phoenix Raven-certified personnel are attached to AFSOC units as airfield security personnel, countersnipers, working dog handlers, and anti-terrorism experts, and a good number of them are cross-trained as paratroopers, JTACs, and joint fires observers. Joes I can see fitting within the AFSOC context as part of my attempt to redesign them: Pararescueman: Lifeline Combat Controller: Starduster Combat Weatherman: Sneak-Peek Tactical Air Controller: Dial-Tone (he even has the appropriately coloured black beret!) Air Liaison Officer (basically a specially trained fighter pilot partnered with a TAC as an adviser): Slip-Stream or maybe Ghostrider Phoenix Raven Security Force: Shockwave, Mutt, maybe Low-Light and Sci-Fi (Low-Light as a countersniper, Sci-Fi as his spotter/observer) |

We need more Air Force Guys. Like the Sneak Peek idea. But Life line for sure. Dial-Tone is a must to change to TAC. You know how Army Radio Operators fuction as far as Calling in airstrikes? My image is sort of Vietnam, but these days, CCT's and Tacs are so attached to Special Operators. Can women be TACs?
