Just for fun I actually started to write a short story, using a screenplay format but with detailed descriptions--the way a comic writer might describe panels to an artist--about Snow Job and Outback on a recon/sniper mission. But I get caught up in doing research in my attempt to give it a realistic, modern resemblance of military operations. The research is fun but it slows down the actual writing part.

I can write comics no problem. I should try to write a screenplay. It's novels I have a hard time with. I don't like my writing when it comes to descriptions and actions. But with comics and screenplays it's a different way of writing the action/descriptions.
Also with novels, I can never finish because I keep expanding the story and adding new things. Comics would be the best genre for me, especially an ongoing comic.

Novels require a lot of patience and a strong desire to go back and revise and cut out a lot of the not so interesting stuff. Are there any writers or writing styles you like to emulate? |

Not really, or at least none that I notice when I do it. Dialogue is my strong suit, it's the descriptive text that gets me. Making something that reads as interesting, etc..
At least with a comic and screenplay can describe it and don't have to be as interesting.

Lacking excitement, convincing detail, etc.. To me they read more like textbook descriptions then novel descriptions.
Posted my kitbashed Scar-Face in the customs section.

Ah, so you're looking for a narrative quality that interweaves the descriptions with the story and dialogue, etc. That's the fun part if you have lots of ideas. I find that coming up with original ideas is the hardest for me. If I always knew what I wanted to say, then the rest would be easier.

Ideas is easy for me. I have too many, that's always the problem.

Those Cobra Bazooka helmets are great accessories. Yeah, I love those helmets. Glad we'll be getting a gray one with the Stinger Driver. The webgear that comes with the Bazooka Trooper is awesome as well. I have a couple customs I want to use it on, just have to decide which one gets priority.
