If you like the True Heroes stuff, you'd LOVE Forces of Valor's Bravo Team, or BBi's Elite Force.

Damn I should have read up on this. I just thought the Captain had been released. Didn't know he was rescued by SEAL snipers!

So looking over everyone's Joe organization, it seems like I might be the only one who hasn't promoted most everybody to senior NCO or officer positions. Why is that?
I still think of my Joes as ground pounders, hard working NCOs and specialists with some SF teams attached. Duke will always be a First Sgt in my Joeverse. I just can't see him as an officer. And Stalker and Rock N Roll will always be NCOs, though I'm not against promoting them above E5. However, I can't see using them all as SF or Delta operatives. That's why I've designed a Ranger-type company structure. |

That's why I've designed a Ranger-type company structure. I gave Dusty a promotion because I think he needs to be pretty high in rank in order to serve as the desert specialist. It'd be kind of hard for anyone to take him serious if he's telling people what to do if he was only an E-4 and most people are higher. I agree Tank, that's why I have the Alpha and Delta teams. Delta teams are the SF/Delta Operator equivalents. Alpha is the regular army units. Not to say that a guy like Tripwire, part of Alpha, couldn't tag along and hold his own on a Delta mission.

It's a clone trooper head. I figure it's very polynesian looking. It doesn't fit too well, since the ball joint is bigger on the clone troopers. I don't know what to do about that. I wanted a non swimsuit wet-suit too. I was going to take a Duke head color the hair brown and slap it on a Tiger Force Flint.
step 1: lube neck ball of fig with vaseline step 2: fill in neck hole of head with a small amount of hot glue step 3: put head on neck and position where you want it step 4: move head around to make sure glue sets around ball properly step 5: after cooling remove head and trim excess glue step 6: clean fig and head of vaseline step 7: enjoy! I did this yesterday to and Indy head and it worked well. Hope that helps. |

Along the lines of Zulu's reimagined take on Cobra, this was going to be mine on re-doing Joe and Cobra for a more modern world.
"Cobra Commander Is he an anarchist? A One-Worlder? No one knows. But all that know him, which are not many, all agree that he has a larger plan in mind. He's always paying attention to everything, the littlest world details don't escape him. He's got agents in every corner of the globe constantly sending him information. One day he could support a cause and the next he'll be on the other side. What the big picture is, only he knows. But all that he seems to do is cause chaos. He's the unknown figure behind everything. His agents work in secret, some don't even realize they work for the Cobra organization. If your cause fits into his grand design, he'll support you, for a price. Cobra As shadowy as organizations get. As loose, but as tight, as organizations get. Every member is fiercely loyal to the Cobra Commander, if they even know they are working for him. Cobra will supply the other terrorist organizations, world armies and other powers with troops, logistics, strategy, finances and even equipment. More often then not, they will seek you out and ask if they can help you, and they can be very persuasive. Cobra has no army of it's own, but they have been known to take in members from other organizations that seem to meet the mindset that the Commander has for his "troops". Secrecy is the name of the game for Cobra. They have their hands into EVERYTHING. Any conflict in the world, no matter how minor, the chance is good that Cobra has been involved somehow. They have even worked to set groups against each other, without either group knowing that Cobra was helping the other. They work towards the Commanders big design, which only he knows. But the troops are all loyal to him. Is it his personality or the money he throws their way? The Commander will utilize the locals for anything he has in mind. His people he'll send in as advisors but now and then he'll utilize the abilities of his Coils (what he calls his inner circle of specialized agents). Baroness Anatasia Decobray is the ultimate politician. She lives and breathes politics. Even the Commander will admit that she is his better in that field. She's as beautiful as she is deadly. She's a brillant mistress of disguise and the Commander uses her to further his mission in the field of politics. She has no morals, those were lost from her long ago. She'll seduce, murder, extort and do whatever she has to in order to acheive her goals. Firefly The world's best saboteur. He'll perform missions for others, just to keep up appearances, but he is the Commander's chief agent of chaos. Firefly is the best. He can make it appear like anyone he wants is responsible. He considers sabotage an artform. Anyone can blow up a building or destroy a prototype, but not everyone can do it as well and as beautiful as Firefly. Copperhead The meanest pirate to ever sail the seas. One word from him and you know he's a bayou boy, born and bred. He's the Commander's chief agent in anything nautical. There isn't anything about the sea that Copperhead doesn't know. Wild Weasel The meanest vulture in the skies. There's nothing he can't fly. He knows every kind of airplane, experimental or real, inside and out and the best ways to handle those craft. He also knows the best ways to disable those craft and to get on board without anyone knowing. Destro James MacCullen Destro is the CEO and chief designer of MARS, a world renowned armament company. His association with Cobra is a closely guarded secret, known only to the Commander and the Baroness, with who he shares a complicated relationship. Destro's weapons on the highest of high tech, the best that money can buy. Storm Shadow Even less is know about this person then the Commander. He serves as the Commanders personal bodyguard and assassin. It's assumed that Storm Shadow is a ninja, but what clan and what his name is, no one knows. But he is the most feared person in the world. Scrap Iron Where Copperhead is to water and Wild Weasel is to air, Scrap Iron is to armor. He knows everything there is to know about every piece of armor in the world. And more importantly, every piece of anti-armor weaponry in the world. He's worked closely with MARS in the past as a researcher and designer. Major Bludd This Australian is one of the world's foremost tacticians and stragegists. His military planning has won many a badly outnumbered army the battle. Most armies have given up when they've learned that Major Bludd is commanding the opposing forces. Tomax and Xamot The twins are top notch businessmen. They live and breath the financial world. From somewhere in the mediterranian, they run a development company called Extensive Enterprises. It's the Commander's legigemate company to get involved in the world of finance. Crimson Guard This is the name assigned to the sleeper agents in place across the world. They secretly work for the Commander. They are our neighbors, bosses, employees, teachers, government officials and even relatives. They feed information to the Commander and carry out his bidding when the need arises. Only the Commander and the Twins know who is a Crimson Guard, and they have been known to frame people now and then. Vipers The few and the proud. A small group of fighting men gathered from the best (what the Commander considers the best) of the various terrorist groups across the world. Their most important quality is that they are disillusioned with their homes and the terrorist groups in that home. They are the troops that Cobra will supply when needed. They wear no special uniforms or insignias, but when they show up, you know the Vipers have arrived. Zartan Master of disguise. Uses all methods: technology, old school, etc.. Doesn't even remember his own true identity, he's changed so much over the years. Dreadnoks A biker gang with chapters worldwide. Started out in Australia, then spread from there. Acts like a crime syndicate with holds all over the place. Rough and dangerous. Hells Angels are wimps compared to the Dreadnoks. G.I. Joe The name for the counter-terrorist group created to stop Cobra. The President and some of his top advisers found out about Cobra thru some intelligence. Never anything concrete, but over time some patterns were discovered and intelligence started hearing the name of "Cobra". The Joes are tasked with taking down and destroying the Cobra organization. The only thing that is of concern, are the Joes part of Cobra Commander's big plan? To protect their families, each member of the Joe team is given a code name and is "killed" in the line of duty. Culled from the best in all military branches, the Joe team is the best the US has to offer. They answer only to their commanding officer, Hawk, who answers only to the President. They have a virtually unlimited budget and work out of a base called the Pit. Not even the President knows where the Pit is. What missions they go on, only Hawk decides. He has analysts working on all intelligence, he has almost as many agents as the Commander does. There are Joe-agents in all branches of government and all levels of the intelligence community. They are a fast response unit. They go in, hoping that they can capture Cobra agents, but not even knowing if Cobra is involved. They work by themselves and no support from the other branches is ever given or asked for, no matter the situation. The other branches don't even know the Joe team exists. Mostly rangers, with SEaLs and other branches special forces mixed in, as well as specialist in various environments, the Joes are a fast action unit. They are trained to make use of anything they find in the surrounding area. They get dropped in and improvise. They are on their own, no air support, limited extraction opportunities. Hawk* - team leader, mission planner Duke - squad leader, ranger Flint - squad leader, airborne assault, green beret Falcon - squad leader, green beret Claymore – squad leader, intelligence, special forces Airborne - airborne assault, ranger Hit & Run - light infantry, ranger Scarlet – counterintelligence, sniper, ranger Stalker - ranger Roadblock - heavy weapons specialist, ranger Snake Eyes - ranger Shipwreck - SEAL Lady Jaye - counterintelligence Mainframe* - computer analyst Wild Bill - helicopter pilot, ranger Crankcase - light vehicle specialist, ranger Barrell Roll - high altitude marksman, airborne assault Airtight - hostile environment specialist Tripwire - explosives specialist Alpine - mountainous terrain specialist, ranger Dusty - desert survival specialist, green beret Snow Job - cold weather survival specialist, ranger Recondo - jungle survival specialist, green beret Chuckles - intelligence Lifeline - medic Beachhead - ranger Big Ben – SAS, British Diana – sniper, Russian May Day - sniper, urban warfare specialist Gung Ho - marine Tunnel Rat – ranger, explosive ordance disposal specialist Pysche Out* - psychologist anyalyst, profiler Shockwave - SWAT, urban warfare specialist Torpedo - SEAL Grand Slam - Anti-armor specialist Outback - survival specialist, ranger Spearhead - Recon/Infiltration specialist, ranger Low-Light – sniper Cross Hair – sniper Sneak Peek – recon, ranger Lone Wolf – Marine Force Recon Medivac – Pararescueman Waverunner – Combatant Craft Crewman" My original idea was to do a series of real quick stories. Kind of like writing in blog form. Only a couple pages telling quick little snapshots of missions and such. But when put together was an overall thing. I have 4 or 5 written. Couple are recruitment pieces of Shockwave and Wild Bill. Another is how Hawk gets involved. Another is of Major Bludd on a "job" and shows how CC uses his guys in the field. I absolutely hate my own writing once it's down, so haven't done anything with 'em yet.

If you want a critical but not too harsh eye for some of your stuff, I'd be happy to look it over. Maybe we could hash out some ideas. Last edited by Tanksmasher; 04-15-2009 at 09:14 PM.. |
