The overall Joe Command with Colton/Hawk and Mainframe are for both Alpha and Delta Teams.

My friend, you know just what I want to hear ;) and I hope you're right!
It's weird, I brought the subject of Low-Light up in another thread and there were some Low-Light haters in there. I was shocked. May be I'm crazy; I thought everybody loved Low-Light. I've never met anyone who didn't like Low-Light. One guys was saying that Lifeline was cooler than Low-Light. I was like, "Hey, I got nothing against Lifeline, but c'mon... over Low-Light?!" I mean... any Special Operations unit need a sniper. And Low-Light is the coolest of the Snipers. Am I wrong here, guys? Do y'all know anyone who thinks Low-Light sucks? I'm not saying he has to be your all time favorite Joe, but if you were to make a list of your top 20 Joes - which is roughly 10% of the entire Joe roster - wouldn't you have Low-Light in your top 20? I know I would. 1. Troy would get his "real" SEAL team 2. Oliver would get his southern Marine officer(s) 3. new characters would be created instead of renaming old ones 4. sculpts would go back to o-rings & screws (thats for me, whats the use of running a toy company if you cant make toys you want?) 5. i would hire you guys as a consortium to write the file cards |

Don't forget: 6. the characters would be redesigned in uniforms that make sense 7. the tanks would be given full crews and there would be a decent support staff for the Joes

So here's a question off the current topic? Has there ever been any sort of GI Joe RPG? There's RPGs for Star Wars and Star Trek and Lord of the Rings, but I don't recall seeing any for GI Joe.
I'd also be interested in a chess set with Joe and Cobra figures. The first time I read (or viewed rather) issue #21, I always wanted a chess set like the one Destro was playing with. But if you had your choice, who would make up the pieces? Here's one with mostly classic pre-1985 characters that I'd like to see: GI Joe Cobra 1.King Duke Cobra Commander 2.Queen Scarlett Baroness 3.Bishop Torpedo Destro 4.Bishop Wild Bill Major Bludd 5.Knight Snake Eyes Storm Shadow 6.Knight Gung-Ho Zartan 7.Rook Stalker Tomax 8.Rook Doc Xamot 9.Pawn Rock N Roll Fire Fly 10.Pawn Flash Eel 11.Pawn Recondo Snow Serpent 12.Pawn Cover Girl Crimson Guard 13.Pawn Snow Job Tele Viper 14.Pawn Spirit Copper Head 15.Pawn Roadblock Scrap Iron 16.Pawn Airborne Wild Weasel Last edited by Tanksmasher; 04-14-2009 at 01:45 AM.. |

Come to think of it, there haven't been that many military RPGs compared to fantasy/sci-fi RPGs. Maybe it's not a genre that lends itself to working well as an RPG.

Awesome choices. I'd love that too.
As far as I know there was never an official Joe RPG, a guy on the Tank has made one, but not official. Come to think of it, there haven't been that many military RPGs compared to fantasy/sci-fi RPGs. Maybe it's not a genre that lends itself to working well as an RPG. For instance, I want a game that will allow one opponent to gain an advantage over another if he effectively employs specific tactics, like flanking or shoot-and-scoot or using patrols and recon, but they have to be used at the right time. Simply having two sides just roll dice leads to a mere game of attrition and luck. I want there to be strategy in one's movement, much like Chess. Say for example, a player was too short-sighted to put flanking security on his platoon as it travels in a column and therefore during an ambush he loses more of his men from enfilading fire. Things like that. And you can incorporate mortars and assault helicopters and get into the logistics of setting up the battle. How are you going to transport your men? What kind of fire support or heavy weapons support do they have? I've been studying the Army Field Manual and other sites for info about movement tactics, setting up your machine guns properly, using base of fire, suppressive fire, etc while also looking at different games, particulary Chess to discover a way to create a war game where one side is defending a base or city or piece of land, and the other side tries to destroy or take it over. And you have to gather intelligence through patrols and recon in order to make effective assaults against the enemy and learn to get your men into battle quickly, make contact with the enemy and destroy or capture them. Sounds like alot of work. But could be really fun.
Back in 7th grade, me and my friends were going nuts over this time life series called Weapons and Warfare. We started our own RPG kind of game. There were 4 of us, we each got some continents and went and created our own vehicles, airplanes and other forces. Then would roll dice to see who won in battles. Was pretty simple. "I attack Hawaii with 5 Trojan Fighter Jets" Was fun though.
