It kind of worked out that way. Started looking at the Joes and their "jobs". Didn't want to double up on anything. And started dividing up the Special Forces guys from the non. Then looked at what I thought a basic Joe Direct Action team would need/want to be able to perform any kind of mission they'd need to, and be able to adapt to anything on the spot, and be self-supporting (to an extent). Six just seemed to be the number that worked best.
Then when I went from using the entire Joe roster to what I physically have, 6 worked out very good in that I didn't have that many of certain "jobs" (snipers for example, technically have just Low-Light, but I'm using Scarlett in that role for one team). I think it gives the most flexibility. Can break off into 2 3-man teams, 3 2-man teams, 4 man team with 2 providing cover, etc.. My Marine Force Recon is a 4 man team. The LRRP unit is a 4 man team. And Barrell Roll's unit is a 4-man team. I think I will use 6 man teams for all my Regular Joe forces: Regular Army, Marines, etc. But with the exception of Sky Patrol (which is only 6 people), I think I may use 4-man teams for my Sub-Teams. I use Night Force like Delta Force, so it makes sense to me to use them in groups of 4; my Ghost Squad will still work in a team of about 6 because I use them like the C.I.A.'s SAD, and the SAD works in units of 6 because they need a little more fire power... mainly because they're so far over the lines that no one is coming to get them. But it sounds like you've got a very good system worked out.

I just think that Big Ben is one of the most overlooked characters on the whole team. His cold weather hat looks a bit odd, and people often don't take him seriously. Considering he's a LRRP for the SAS, he's probably one of the 10 best commandos on the whole Joe Team (obviously, that a very competitive list).
If I were going to put together a list of the 10 Best Commandos (Special Operations Soldiers), I might go with the following... 1. Claymore 2. Flint 3. Stalker 4. Falcon 5. Big Ben 6. Beach-head 7. Duke 8. Low-Light 9. Recondo 10. Torpedo * Snake-Eyes is obviously an amazing soldier with incredible skills, however, his inability to verbally communicate would be difficult to integrate into a Special Operations Unit that depends so heavily on open and easy communication between it's members. Kamakura might be a better choice for a place on the roster of a Special Operations Team.

It sounds like a very good system, I suppose reading all these books about Delta Force has me thinking...

I like to use the name Sky Patrol still, but I've added CrazyLegs, Airborne, Starduster, Ripcord, FreeFall, and Sneak Peak. Now it's a dozen man team. Who is going in your Ghost squad? |

Thanks, I tried to make the teams as flexible as possible in being able to take on any mission.
Barrell Roll's is my "glider" team. Barrell Roll, Skyduster, Vorona (I'm using the RoC Cover Girl with some customization for her) and Skymate (who is now on my "to get" list).

Wet-Suit Shipwreck Wet-Down Tracker Dr. Link Gung-ho Leatherneck Drop-Zone Skymate Any of the other 25 rangers on the team? I take it your Recondo is Special Forces? |

I agree with the assessment of Flint probably getting some SAS training. I'd also say that possibly Lady Jaye (or maybe even Scarlett) went and got Irish ARW (Army Ranger Wing) training. I really wouldn't change that list. It's pretty spot-on. I have Kamakura and Snake-Eyes as part of my Special Forces team (Claymore, Recondo, Falcon, Outback, Snake-Eyes and Kamakura), they operate independantly and get supported by the other teams as needed for different missions (think of Snake-Eyes as he's shown in IDW, out on his own).

Roadblock Muskrat I'd take Shipwreck off the list.

I don't have Freefall or Sneak Peek (high on the list to get though). So Flint's team is: Flint Big Ben Airborne Crazy Legs Ripcord (and can't remember the last) Flint's is Team 4, Special Insertion Team (meaning the helicopter/HALO insertion team).

I'm just throwing all the SpecialOps Guys out there. Oliver's team has only one Seal, no Force Recon. Both of which I consider better trained than the typical Ranger. (My Shipwreck is a SEAL). I didn't even try to list all the Rangers. I almost feel like they should function as their own unit, with maybe a few of them being placed on some of the more elite teams to fill holes. Yet separate from the Alpha team like you may be using. (The regular Infantry, Armor, Artillery) I suppose regular Infantry means "Green Shirt"
