Oh yeah. I'm loving that they added a tact. vest to Outback. And it's a great one too.

I'm very excited about the new 7 packs. The weapons pics look great. Recondo and Outback are going straight to Marine Deadpool to be added to the ODA team.

So, has anyone seen the New Movie File cards? Is Stone supposed to be the new Trainer? He's not Lt. Stone from Sigma 6 or Extreme? Are there pics of the new file cards available?
If anyone is interested, I've read 4 books on Delta Force... Pretty interesting stuff. It has really informed my Joeverse. Yeah, Stone's card says hes a trainer. "Special Forces Commando" is on the front and on the back it says he's the team trainer. He's not Lt. Stone from Sigma 6 or Extreme. What books? How did it reshape your Joeverse?

I agree. I think that anytime we get new characters, it is a real blessing. I'm probably going to use the new Rip Cord as a new Character... same with new Breaker. They may use the same code name, but we've seen that before. Besides, wasn't Weem's code name changed to Halo Jumper or something?

Books I read: "Delta Force" by Col Charlie Beckwith "Inside Delta Force" by CSM Eric Haney "Kill Bin Laden" by Dalton Fury "The Mission, the Men, and Me" by Pete Blaber Basically, Delta Force breaks into 4 man teams that are lead by Sgt. Majors (usually), but Delta Operators can be tasked out in teams of 2 or even on solo missions occasionally - think Recondo. They grow crazy long hair and beards, and they do not wear standard uniforms. But it's not as chaotic as it might sound at first. When they're back at HQ, there is a very clear chain of command. They work together and are often on a first name, or "call sign" basis, but rank is still very much in effect. Everyone knows the chain of command and whose in charge. When they're working in small teams, or in deep cover they may wear whatever works for them... but when they do larger operations, like in Afghanistan at Tora Bora, etc., they wear very similar uniforms for the simple reason that you have to be able to visually identify friendlies when you're in a fire fight. If everyone is dressed up like a local Afghanistan native, it gets confusing when bullets start flying... even for these guys. So they usually all wear the same shirt/uniform. Pants can vary, but they have to wear matching shirts to identify each other. Boots don't have to be bloused, some guys might wear different pants. Knee and elbow pads, boots and gloves, and web gear are at the individual's discretion. They all have to wear an American patch of some kind on their sleeve, but there's a lot of freedom in that... some guys wear a subdued flag, some guys wear a full color flag, some guys wear an NYPD or NYFD patch. One operator reportedly wears a patch from the Bail Bond company from his home town. Another wore a patch of Micky Mouse. They do use call signs/code names. Their identities are classified. Their records and awards are classified. No one is below an E-6 (Staff Sgt.), or a Captain (for officers). Selection is brutal and long, but it's designed to find soldiers who can function as individuals for long periods of time, are incredibly physically strong, and will never quit a mission. It's modeled after the SAS selection and training... and there's a lot of espionage training involved. Training after selection takes about 6 months, and it continues once the new soldier reaches his new unit. From everything I've read, "The Unit" is reasonably accurate. It gives a basic idea that isn't too far off from what the Joe team could be doing. Obviously the soap opera bits of the show are annoying... but what can you expect from CBS? There's also an excellent book entitled "The Killer Elite" about the Intelligence Support Activity. Those boys are also known as "The Secret Army of Northern Virginia". Wikipedia them sometime... I envision the Intel branch of the Joe team to be a lot like those guys. These guys are a little less commando, and a little more spy, but they are just as elite and just as tough... and really, a lot more secretive. For my Joeverse, I'm going to think about 4-man teams. Even most of my subgroups could be further broken down, with the obvious exception of Sky Patrol. This won't work in every case: my Marines will work like regular Marine Recon (6 man teams), my regular Joe Army guys will work like regular units, pretty much. But Night Force, which I use as my Delta Force, will change. Tiger Force will change. My Rangers will probably change.

So, you'll keep Weems as "Rip Cord" and call movie rip cord "Spc. Altitude"? That would probably work well. Who was "Halo Jumper"? Did they rename "Airborne" too?
