Part of their training involves a goat. The instructors do something drastic to a goat: shoot it in a weird place, cut one of it's legs off, etc. Weird stuff. Anyway, the Special Forces Medic students have to keep the goat alive for over 24 hours to pass. The whole training takes over a year. It's serious stuff. Those medics are amazing guys.

Right know in my Joeverse I have: [In my Joeverse, I don't necessarily have all the figures collected yet] Surefire [v.2]: CID, MP, Detachment Commander SWAT: Bulletproof [v1: SWAT leader, US Marshall (per filecard), 2nd in Cmd Shockwave[v1, replace able by modern era]: SWAT Long Arm [v1]: SWAT Bomb expert [per v2 file card] Widescope: SWAT, Sniper, bomb dog Red Zone: Urban Specialist; Helicopter pilot Security: Checkpoint: Gate security Law: Perimeter security Mutt: perimeter security Mace: base patrol man CID/Support/Other: Rook: Interrogations, Translator (16 languages per filecard i think) Bull Horn: Hostage Negoitator (Spelling?); communications, Sniper Lockdown [On my list of customs project]: Corrections officer Cutter: Coast Guard, anti drug patrol, (based on DEF filecard) Now I breakdown arent concrete as Joe my rotate duties or work with other teams on missions. Ex: Lock down, Law and Bull horn, might join SWAT in helping take down a Headhunter team holding a bank hostage or something. Or all the dog handlers and bomb experts going out to find a bomb. Also, does anyone else have a problem with Red Zone also being a Helicopter pilot and only an E-4? I suppose being Steel Brigade might give him that training, but I tend to play him as a Warrent Officer... Thoughts? Did I miss any MPs? Does anyone think that a particular joe would make a good MP team member though they are not necessarily flagged as an MP? Last edited by PhilDpino; 11-15-2008 at 04:10 AM.. |

We're on a mission. ;)
This thread has sort of developed into a rally point for old school Joe lovers. Of course everybody's welcome, but if people don't have a love for the old Comic of the file cards they usually leave. We've met some quality people in here. I'm only speaking for myself. Nobody else in here may care one bit about the thread. I still like it. |

That's pretty common with Special Forces Soldiers. SG medics are considered the next best thing to an M.D. and they can do things in the field that no M.D. would even think about trying.

PhiDpino, That's a very good set up you've got for your Police/MP's. Really solid organization; well thought out.
I just have one question: Isn't Mace an Intelligence Operative? Using Red Zone as a helicopter Pilot is not a bad way to do it. It seems to me that as long as you've dedicated him to that job, and he's a Warrant Officer in your Joeverse, it makes sense. What I didn't see was Gung-Ho and the Convention Steel Brigade figures in your Joeverse... do you incorporate them?

I heard it was to years and that it was a calf. A former SF Medic who ended up in my Hospital Unit in the reserves said the shot a calf three times for his SF medical Sergeant final course. He had to keep it alive for 3 days and since they train short of becoming a license MD on every medical MOS available to enlisted personal including the dental field he gave the cow dental work while he was at it. (you because, sometimes SF guys training the indigenous people to become fighters, they may need to build good will and serve as doctors and dentist to villages)

PhiDpino, I also didn't see Low-Light with your SWAT team. He's C.I.D. and on the 2008 Convention SWAT Team... do you use Low-Light with your security unit in your Joeverse?

One of my grandfather's was a Navy Sea-Bee during WW2, the other was a Marine. He still flys his Marine flag at his house and has a bumper sticker that reads "not as lean, not as mean, but still a marine".
I think it disappointed him that none of his sons or grandsons joined the Corps. He had the Marine song "shores of tripoli" on a keychain and would play it all the time to annoy my neices (his great-granddaughters). I don't think there are any Naval Aviators. Is Dogfight? It doesn't say on his card if he's Navy and Air Force. The cartoon, even as a kid, annoyed me that all the Joes could pilot the Skystrikers, Dragonflys and all other vehicles. Why do you need Ace or Wild Bill if Duke, Shipwreck, Roadblock can do the same thing? Never made any sense. Saw in an episode, Mutt had what looked like a Ranger badge on his chest.

Lift-Ticket is a Warrant Officer (Flight).
He was into West Point Prep and Officer Candidate School, but choose Flight Warrant School. Lifeline has no secondary speciality.
