As for Alpine... it's Eddie Murphy. I just used him because as a kid, I always associated Alpine's voice in the cartoons ("Keep splicin'!") with Eddie Murphy's. Glad you like it. |

Even more stuff:
Clockwise, from top left: Snow-Job, Snake-Eyes, Iceberg, Shipwreck notes: Snake-Eyes is just an update of my earlier photobash. Hooked him up with an AN/PVS-7 monocular night vision apparatus. Shipwreck, I reimagined as a NavSpecWar operator. |

Love that Shipwreck.
I know someone mentioned this earlier...some of these guys, just some, and I mean this constructively, look a little too weighed down with gear. That might just be a result of where you're getting the images or what have you, and most of these are just great...but Iceberg looks practically immobile.

I love the work you put into 'em, but yeah, they do seem to have a ton of gear on 'em.
I like Snake-Eyes, but the eye pieces are too big, they'd hamper his periphial vision. These are awesome. How much time does it take to do one?

It depends on how many elements I'm getting whole from pre-existing images and how much I'm airbrushing or sometimes "digitally painting" in. Some of them take me less than half an hour (like, say, the Iceberg image which was pretty much a Snow-Job afterthought). Others take me a few hours (such as the Scarlett image, since I ended up manually painting her pelvis, thighs, and half her torso, since they were covered up in the original image).

Nice work again ZD! Each evolution gets a little closer to perfection. I like the addition of the ACU camo. I would recommend just try to stick with maybe the pants camo'ed for most of the characters (except perhaps Stalker - which I think you have near perfect now - and Footloose/Leatherneck), as that is the precedent of most of the original versions.
Any luck getting the marpat for Gung Ho and maybe a Leatherneck proto? For the others (my opinions, for what they're worth): Snow Job: Only change I see is to "white him out" as much as possible. In the arctic, camo is everything, since movement is difficult. Snake Eyes: Near perfect. A couple tweeks and you're there with him. Shipwreck: A good start. I would continue to refine him with more SEAL elements. Iceberg: More warfighting, less climbing, IMO. Rock 'n' Roll: Pretty much there. I'm still trying to get used to him with the smaller MG though. Wild Bill: I like the style, but would love to see more of the "Nightstalker" look with a bit darker colors, kind of like the colors of the Air Command 3 pack. Alpine: I'm trying to get used to him in camo vs. just browns and greens. I would reduce him to just partial, top or bottom with the other being solid color as a tribute to the original. Scarlett: I know your version is more realistic than the original for clothing and gear, but I'm just not associating her as Scarlett. I'm not sure exactly why. It's probably just me. Anyway, as always, great work and I'm looking forward to seeing more! |
