All my stuff is mixed. I spent too long collecting to wait for another version of a character. I personally only use guys I have, but I have almost everyone. And if guys are different enough looking like Leatherneck I rename him and use him. Mine is renamed "Shells."

I'm working on several rosters. One that includes every Joe figure made and those that were in the comics but not made, plus greenshirts. One that only includes ARAH figures, vehicles and other 1/18 vehicles (BBI Blackhawk, etc). And one for just the figures and vehicles that I have.

As we keep talking about teams and stuff it might spark an interest in a character I hadnt thought of before or might cause me to take a second look at one i had dismissed There are plenty of characters that i have no interest in but if their figure is interesting i will use it for a custom & vice versa (if i like the character but the figure sucks then I'll make something i like to be able to have that Joe) For instance- I just won 2 Desert Foxes but as we've discussed previously there is a shortage of desert troopers. I had 2 V1 Dustys with broken crotches so I put a Lightfoot head on one & a Spearhead head on the other. Now I just need to find some lowers for them. Lightfoot & Spearhead were both broken also and i didnt really like those 2 figures as they were, but now the problem is solved. |

I try to use multiple versions of Joes as different Joes so that I can expand their size. For instance, the Chinese Flint/Falcon figure is a completely different character. The black-haired, beared Low-Light is a different sniper. And since Shockwave is masked, I use each version as a different character because I like them so much and they can make up an entire hit squad if need be.

I only use characters that i actually have figures of or plan to get. I do physically have a V4 Leatherneck.

Yeah, I'd do this with the 25th Dusty if he wasn't so hard to find.

The different versions of Dusty are different enough that they can make their own troopers.
Have camo-Dusty, VvV Dusty and the beret-Dusty. There's 3 troopers right there. Then the red beret Dusty would make a great Combat Controller. And the Night Rhino Dusty is different enough to be another character.

I also use the two desert paratrooper Flints and the Battle Corp Duke as additional desert troopers or "tanshirts". The Duke makes a particularly good desert tank crewman.

Some other great figures that I hate to waste:
Any Joe with a Boonie Hat, So the shipwrecks, TF Recondo, Every other Dusty you don't use. The hardest ones are the Stalkers |
