Mace- dont see anything on his filecard about being a Marine Mega Marines- don't know what they're supposed to be. Just saw "Marines" in title and thought they were. Coincidentally- Blast Off is a flame thrower. I dont remember if he was mentioned in that discussion or not. Overall- pretty sad that you can't even fill a six man squad of Marines but then again the Navy doesnt get much love either. |

Now for Snake-Eyes, his not being American bothers me for one particular reason and that is because he is no longer American military. Now he has to be French Foreign Legion of which I feel no connection. If they need to put that in the movie they should have added the Twins, (Who happen to be my two favorite Cobras) |

CC's filecard kind of hints at a military background, it's definately not a used car salesman or 1000 year old snake-man. So out of it all, the movie is the closets to the original filecard.
The script, at least the review on the front page, mentions "baroness' military scientist brother". We know, or at least been told by those that "have read the script" (it's the internet, i don't usually believe people when they say stuff like that) that the Doctor is Baroness' brother and becomes CC. So in this case he's a military scientist.

Bullhorn- V1 filecard just says Quantico, V2 specifies FBI @ Quantico. Is there something in the comics or elsewhere that puts him as a Marine?

Overall- pretty sad that you can't even fill a six man squad of Marines but then again the Navy doesnt get much love either. Bullhorn's V2 pretty much clears the Marine thing away, but since the Marine's Officer training school is also at Quantico, it's cause for discussion. Mace's File card mention's the Shores of Tripoli, Which is part of the second verse of the Marine Hymn. More compelling evidence than anyone else's since no other military branch would ever lay claim to that statement other than a Marine. Mega Marines I would say no. Especially not Clutch as we know he's a Ranger. |

As I understand it, Hama was more interested in creating new versions of old characters rather than replacements.
And I think Spirit was in Vietnam also. And there was an issue in the comic where Hawk mentions "driving a desk in a headquarters unit" when he was sent to tell Snake Eyes about his family's car accident. So I think he served during the Vietnam conflict but not necessarily in Vietnam. So you think Hasbro was like, just make a new guy? We need a younger Ranger and SEAL and Marine? We can keep the old guys around and use them if we need them. hence Beachhead, Wet-Suit, and Leatherneck? |

Bullhorn and Mace are both better used in an Urban CBQ/SWAT type team. Slaughter is a straight drill sargeant, not field operative (ignore the stupid cartoon usage).
So that still leaves only Gung-Ho, Leatherneck and Hollow Point.

So now you can make new versions of Stalker and Beachhead.

I only have 5 Marines besides my 26 custom, Frakensteined Marines.

Especially not Clutch as we know he's a Ranger. I need to crew 2 Night Rhinos (possibly a 3rd on the way) & i want to have a 3 man sniper team (codenames: swift, silent & deadly) so I'm gonna have to get busy with the customs. Ive got one waiting for paint thats a combo of gung ho top & slaughter bottom; codename: chesty. And V4 leatherneck is so different that I'll probably just rename him. Loose- are your guys all 25th, vintage or a mix? |

Maybe we can ask about how many were vietnam vets? Some there is no doubt.
Stalker; Snake-Eyes; Storm Shadow; Leatherneck; Wild-Bill; Shipwreck; Claymore; Duke; Mainframe But then there are the ones that should be the right age: Any of the original 13 Hawk; Gung-Ho; Torpedo; Repeater; What may be a good question is why he was planning on or told to replace characters with younger counterparts? As is seen with guys that have the same specialty. Such as the Stalker with Beachhead SnowJob with Iceberg Scarlett with Lady Jaye Grunt with Footloose or Ripcord according to the comics Zap with Bazooka Short-Fuse with Downtown |

Do you guys only use characters that you have or the entire Joe force?
If you say Leatherneck v4 gets renamed and goes into this team, do you physically have Leatherneck v4?
