I actually had an Interrogator figure (it came with a mini-helicopter, right?). My grandmother (bless her heart) sent me one in the Christmas of 1991, but this was a good 2 years after I decided I had "outgrown" action figures and was more interested in learning to play guitar and becoming popular with the girls at my school (not necessarily in that order). I mostly kept it boxed, and only took it out when she was visiting. My younger brother ended up inheriting him (along with the rest of my Joes) when I moved away for university, and unfortunately, all their weapons and training couldn't help them survive a 6 year old's overly enthusiastic and rough play. .

This is one of the things that makes me happy I have daughters. They have shown no interest in my collection. But is any of my 5 nephews shows up, They start asking for hand outs. They can have most of the no-o-ring 2001 stuff and a few of the snake-eyes. But I'm surprised they like any of it with Ben-10, Spiderman, and Yu-gi-Oh. |

My Kenner Star Wars collection was more impressive then my Joe collection (had the Millenium Falcon and tons of other stuff). Stupidly (and I regret it even to this day) I gave it all to my cousins. None of it survives to this day.

I'm thinking of moving my photobash posts in this thread, since it seems to be more in line with the topic of filecards and updating the Joes than the fan art section, if that's okay with you, Troynos (since you "own" this thread). If it's inappropriate or reeks of thread-jacking, let me know.
My older photobashes can be found in this thread. Anyway, here are some of my recent contextual updates of some classic Joes: Quick-Kick notes: I'm re-doing the photobashed uniforms to include most, if not all of the colour elements from the classic figures. It was a bit of a problem with old Macarthur S. Ito, though, since I couldn't think of a good reason to give him a bright red element (a la his old shuriken sash) on his assault suit. In the end, I compromised and gave him a brown equipment vest (since you know, brown is mostly a desaturated red ). I'm re-imagining Quick-Kick as more of a CQB specialist, since it seems to be more in line with his skills as a martial artist. Also, 10 bonus points to the person who can identify the 1980s action film icon whose face I photomanipulated to take the role of Quick-Kick. Budo notes: Not really a Budo fan... to me, he was just a second-rate and even goofier version of Quick-Kick (Quick-Kick, despite being of the odder character designs, has always been a sentimental favourite of mine since he was my first ever action figure). I find trying to re-interpret the samurai costume into a plausible modern military get-up an interesting design challenge, though. Here, I've applied the major colours of his original costume to a tactical breaching armour/flight suit combo (which is vaguely reminescent of samurai armor), such as one that might be worn by a VBSS team member or a Marine FAST CQB team member. Mutt & Junkyard notes: I know what you're thinking: Why is Junkyard not a Rottweiler? Well, according to the references I've read on the subject of military working dogs, it seems like the DoD's policy on MWDs is that Belgian Malinois and the similar-looking German Sheperds are the best breeds for military duty: they're very intelligent, not easily startled by gunfire, and just have the right balance of aggressiveness and sociability so they can be used in teams and in crowd situations. The only other breeds officially endorsed by the 341st Military Working Dog Training Squadron are smaller, even more scent-sensitive dogs used for narcotics work. Rottweilers might be larger, more aggressive, and more intimidating than Sheperds or Malinois, making them good guard dogs, but their innately aggressive and territorial nature makes them a poor choice for a military dog in most tactical situations that require a dog to work with a team of humans and other canines. |

Those look awesome Zulu.
I did a thread a LONG time ago about changing up some of the weirder designs, Budo was one of the ones I picked. I like your take on QK and Budo.

Clutch isn't a marine unless you count mega marines, but most of us don't.
Marines: Gung-Ho Leatherneck Mainframe Mirage (probably) Sgt Slaughter Blast-Off? I think there's another one, but can't remember |

Zuludelta, I thought at first that Quick Kick had Ralph Maccio's face. But now, I wonder if that's Sho Kosugi (from those ninja movies like Revenge of the Ninja). Please tell me! I have to know!! (OK, I'm calmer now)
