Remember the movie..."The Guardian?" I think a Coast Guard Joe who is a Rescue Diver would be awesome.
Lighthouse would be a cool name but it sound like it would have to be someone with a land based MOS, like a dispatcher. Is there a character already called Blockade? (Battle Force 2000) If not I think that would be an awesome name for a "Coastie." Could be an interceptor boat pilot...he could have gotten his experience kicking the butts of smugglers and drug runners on the high seas. Joe's Definately need more Coast Guards. **** Mayday: anyone have a good image/pic of her? I been wanting to do a custom but can't find a decent image to base it on. Same for Firewall? Shooter: on the list of upcoming customs. Currently working on Doc (Carla) and Covergirl. |

Blockade is a great name for a Coastie...
All the BF2000 guys died except for Dodger, so they could certainly use that name again. Or even "Harpoon". It's sort of nautical and cool. "Hatches" or "Anchor" could work pretty well. They could have a Coast Guard drug dog named "Dingy" Certainly not "floater". Certainly not that. ;)

No pictures. But it's just a head swap. But I liked the Idea of an urban assault commander. My Raider is an (0-5) and the Code name is based on the Marines. Well then came Bulletproof and Surefire, and I use the Roughshot from the bronze bombers as my new urban Assault Commander. He's an (0-7). But my Raider was a key character in my Joe Verse for a long time. I inherited my brother's collection when someone stole half of it and he lost interest. I couldn't have dupes but the head is good and the Shockwave body is one of the best ever made. I like you believe there are not enough Marines that are Joes. Especially Officers.
There are also not enough Hispanic Joes either. Not one Joe was born in Puerto Rico. I always assumed Zap is Puerto Rican. Yet we have a Cuban, Mexican, and a Columbian. Law seemed Hispanic in the Movie but Lavinge seems French Canadian or Teeny booper. Does anyone ever wonder how they got tapped for Duty for the Joes if they are not US citizens. I suppose they are naturalized citizens. Can anyone clarify that? How do men join the military and gain their citizenship? I sorta guess that does happen and may even be a faster path to citizenship. So are Snow Storm, Long Range, and Switch Gears (and Backstop) US citizens? Also Someone mentioned Roadpig's Hometown of Goblu. Since I spent of great deal of my youth in Kalamazoo, I was always keen to the 3 Characters that are from Michigan. (Hell I would have bought a Madonna Figure if they made one). I never got that until now. what's that?.....20years? You don't have to be a citizen to Join the service (although from what I understand, if you are a citizen...especially a naturalized citizen, and if you go join another country's military, you may lose your citizenship if the government wants revoke it.) Anyways, joining the military makes it easier for you to become a citizen but you have to apply for it. There are only a few circumstances when joining the military makes you citizenship automatic...ex: winning the CMoH or dying in the line of duty. Otherwise you can spend a life time in the service and never become a citizen. I heard a news report once (NPR i think) that this E-7 had been in the military for years but never got his citizenship, came back from Iraq a purple heart recipient (bronze star too, i think) all messed up in the head from what he saw/did/happened to him that he gamble and drank his life away and got arressted. He was deported to his home country because he "did not live up to the standards of poeple America wants of Resident Aliens and Naturalized Citizens." The same news report, if i remember correctly, stated that if he had been naturalized they probably would have revoked his citizenship and deported him all the same. But when you apply, you get pushed to the front of the line and get special preference. There were many soldier who ship out to the Sandbox and get sworn in as citizens during their reenlistments or before they ship. Last edited by PhilDpino; 11-14-2008 at 06:36 PM.. |

Navy Seabeas would be a great edition to the Joe Team.
Also, are there any Navy Pilots in G.I. Joe or are they all Air Force Pilots? ... I mean with the fixed wing Air Craft. Obviously, Wild Bill and many of the Helicopter Pilots are Army guys. I think Keel-Haul v2's file card listed him as a Pilot, but he may be the only Naval Aviator in G.I. Joe. And some how I don't see a 4 star admiral doing a lot of combat flying. Weird.

Mmmm, yeah.
Well, I guess this whole thread has been about the Joes qualifications that are listed on the File card. I have always thought it was stupid that in the cartoon everyone could fly a Sky Striker. Duke could do a lot, but there's no way on God's green Earth that an Army Infantry 1st Sgt. could fly an F-14.
