An eagle makes a brief appearance in #32 (Spirit's second issue) - it shows Spirit the blood trail leading back to the cabin. You could make an argument that eagle was Freedom. ;)
Speaking of odd mentions in file cards, has anyone else gotten the new G.I.Joe five pack? Lady Jaye's filecard has something odd: "Her exceptional skill with the crossbow has also earned her the admiration of her team - and even the begrudging respect of COBRA troopers." Lady Jaye's skill with a crossbow? Typo? Maybe they meant to type "javelin"

I thought it was a mistake at first, but I looked up her original 1985 filecard and it does indeed state that she's a qualified expert with a "reflex" crossbow (whatever that is). Seems to be an odd thing to focus on with the new 5-pack filecard, though, since she's doesn't come with a crossbow at all.

What about Polly? I don't know much from the comics, just asking.

Shipwreck was hardly ever featured in the comics, much less Polly, polly. I always considered that some of the bigger differences between the comics and the cartoons. Certain characters who were popular on the cartoon (Duke, Shipwreck, Alpine, Bazooka) were markedly less visible in the comics.

Heh - Wikipedia has them as different terms, where the difference is how the arms curl away from the archer (recurve has only the outer parts curving away, where a reflex has the entire length). Either way, I didn't know before.

So Shipwreck and Duke got more of the limelight, like they were in the cartoon.

Wiki's probably correct. I only looked up the first site that popped up in my search, and in it some bow-making guy seemed to be using reflex and recurve interchangeably.
