That's really interesting because that's the background that he had in the cartoon show. there was an episode where Dr. Mindbender is attacking the Joes through their dreams, and only Low-Light can fight him because his dreams are always nightmares anyway... it was all linked back to his experience in the Junkyard with Rats when he was a boy.
Cold Slither, why is Low-Light your favorite? Don't get me wrong, I think he's great - as I've been writing - but why is he your favorite? Also, since we're talking about a sniper - who do you guys think is the best sniper in G.I. Joe? I don't guess there's a right answer, but I'd be interested to hear what you guys think. Shooter. the 14th original Joe (14th if you count Sparks) |

Didn't have time to go through the whole thread, so sorry if this got covered-but Scoop is named (sort of) after TV journalist Mike Leonard.
Also, Road Pig is from Goblu, Michigan. Goblu is a fake town on some old MI maps referencing the UofM slogan "Go Blue". |

Found this VERY interesting:
"The process of becoming a "PJ" is known informally as "the Pipeline." (Even more informally as "Superman School.") Successfully completing it takes about two years of intense physical and mental effort. Of the dozens who begin the process, only the most determined will graduate; sometimes as few as four to six from a class of nearly 60. More than 90 percent drop out from each class; the highest training drop-out rate in the entire U.S. military Special Operations community." Pararescuemen have the highest training drop-out rate of all the Special Operations? That's pretty cool. That has to be a very tough training course. These guys go to the Army Airborne School as well as alot of others. Wow... He sort of looked a little peeved and said, "Well, because they're starting with Air Force personnel. Of course, those @$$%&#s are going to quit." I laughed, but when I relayed this story to my brother, who was an Air Force pilot, he was not amused. It should be noted that the "pipeline" for PJ training usually includes Ranger school. If you want to look at another "Pipeline" program that is even more amazing, check out the pipeline for the Marine Force Recon.

Thank you very much; no one had answered that. And that's very interesting about Road Pig. Thanks. Was Goblu sort of a nickname for Ann Arbor?

That was a great story. Fantastic. One of the best Retcons I've ever seen since Green Lantern: Rebirth. Larry Hama did a fantastic job. I wish they would make shooter figure. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

Just to touch on a subject from some pages back...
what would you guys think of a code name like: Raider ? A Marine member of the team, in honor of the Marine Raiders in WW2. The Raiders were sort of a forerunner to Force Recon... so a Force Recon Marine in G.I. Joe could be named "Raider". Seems like a natural fit to me. How about it?

It worked because it gave valid reasons for why Hawk would recruit those people (or Sparks would reccommend Steeler). It's because he knew them and knew they were the men he wanted. Sparks would be #1, so that would make Shooter #15, if you're counting original Joes. Would Gen. Flagg count?

The armorer, as much as I like the nod to Marauder, I think something like: Condition One (meaning loaded gun).
