And instead of Rowdy Roddy Piper, Jack Bauer would make a heck of a Joe for a Convention exclusive.
Who would buy a Jack Bauer figure if they made him into a Joe? His character bio on the Fox website says: Delta Force and LAPD SWAT. B.A. from UCLA, M.A. from Berkley... not too shabby for qualifications.

I wrote that off as someone who does industrial espionage, stealing other manufacturers' secrets, rather than a petty thief. That's just me though.

Thanks for the info on the Special Forces Oliver.
Awhile back, when we were talking about brand new Joes, I had looked into that. There's alot more then I thought. I'm liking the Pararescuemen (PJs) and for some odd reason the Navy's Combatant-Craft Crewmen. List of special operations units - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Good listing by military branch.

Yeah, that's what I figured too. Just a weird way of saying it, instead of putting "industrial espionage".

Found this VERY interesting:
"The process of becoming a "PJ" is known informally as "the Pipeline." (Even more informally as "Superman School.") Successfully completing it takes about two years of intense physical and mental effort. Of the dozens who begin the process, only the most determined will graduate; sometimes as few as four to six from a class of nearly 60. More than 90 percent drop out from each class; the highest training drop-out rate in the entire U.S. military Special Operations community." Pararescuemen have the highest training drop-out rate of all the Special Operations? That's pretty cool. That has to be a very tough training course. These guys go to the Army Airborne School as well as alot of others. Wow...

Yeah, the Joes have to have a similiar set up. The Joes are really a fictional Delta Force anyways, so would make sense that the Joe Operatives (don't like how Hasbro calls 'em Agents) have their own weapons customized for themselves. That's it, we need a Joe armorer to add to the support staff. If I ever get around to it, that is my plan for a custom. |

I'd love a base support staff.
Armorer Mechanic Flight Crew Chief Communications Medic PT Trainer Security Could be an internet exclusive 7-pack, or even come with a new G.I.Joe base. Could make a Cobra equivalent as well.

The selection they go through for Delta Force is very similar to what Special Forces does... a lot of map reading and carrying a ruck sack for long periods. Except it's more isolated. They want to make sure that you can survive on your own. They go out to some weird National Guard base in West Virginia or something.
Anyway, I remember seeing the SF guys that were overseeing the event and thinking, "gee, these guys don't seem so hardcore, like the SEALs and Delta..." Man, did I have a lot to learn. That wasn't a look of complacency, more "been there, done that" GI Joe Armorer: Code Name: Marauder |
