I use Falcon as a Captain, and he's in command of all my sub-teams. Psyche-Out is a Captain, and it would make the most sense to me to use him as the XO for all the Sub-Teams... the XO usually runs the HQ unit, so Psyche-Out could coordinate all the operations that might be taking place simultaneously, keep them organized, and make sure Falcon is up to speed. He could also go with a unit as the commander, if Falcon is unavailable. So having Psyche-Out's Tiger Force uniform is nice because Tiger Force is the main thrust of Special Operations in my Joeverse - Night Force is WAY covert.

It's going to be something like this...
How would you describe the organization of GI Joe as a military unit and what was the rationale behind its chain of command and ranking system? For instance, was it intended to resemble an actual military structure as seen in Special Forces Groups and who would make up its headquarters and support staff? Who determined the rank on the file cards as some Joes are of a higher rank then others but weren't shown in the command structure? Did Hasbro exercise a lot of control about the ranks of the Joes?

I'm also really tempted to ask a follow up question about Low-Light. He just seemed so laid back about everything else, but about Low-Light he was very emphatic... I'd like to know what that's all about. Then again, I'm just a really big Low-Light fan.
I gotta get some sleep. Talk with you guys, tomorrow... OH, and I had a pretty neat idea about incorporating some of the fictional countries from the comic book into my Joeverse. I think it will work really well, and I think y'all are going to like it. Who wouldn't want to take their Joes on an operation in Borovia or Sierra Gordo? Good night, fellas.

Add in a part about how the ranks vary for the same character from year to year.

What are all the fictional countries in the comics?
Sierra Gordo Trucial Abysmia (which has already popped up in IDW) Wolfkuckland (sp?) Darklonia Cobra Island What was that country in the Battle Force 2000 issue? What was that country that connects to Sierra Gordo, from the DDP issues where Duke was running that black op disguised as an IG? There's also that country where Roadblock and Chuckles escorted the prince, from Special Missions.

The country next to Sierra Gordo is Punta del Mucosa. The one that we see BF 2000 in is Frusenland. Neighboring Trucial Abysmia is the Emirate of Benzheen. Special Missions 10 has Chuckles and Roadblock escorting "Prince Ngoto the younger" to Equatorial Kalingaland, and DDP had Badhikistan in a few of its issues.

There is also another eastern European Country The one that Zartan got his ability from, in dreadnoks declassified. It's one of those Bulgaromandolva slavic countries. I want to say Ruslan but I know that's the lastest Oct Guard guy. It probably borders, Borovia, Darklonia, Trans-carpathia, and whatthefuckland.

I'm still afraid this is a wasted question since he probably will give you the same answer as before. But I still think you need to ask it. As far as changing of ranks on the file cards you should probably squeeze it in as well. I just wonder when he stopped writing the cards. For many of us this was the little bit of reality we needed to justify how tough each character is. Duke's Vietnam background is barely mentioned in the comics if at all, but his file card is pretty over the top. You know he gave promotions in the comics, but no joes until Stalker and Snake-Eyes and Deep-six got promotions on their filecards, besides Hawk. that was 89. Well TF Flint got his filecard corrected in 88. I don't count that as a promotion. |
