We should add Bull Horn... he's a hostage negotiator.

Well this is why I Love GIJoe. No Superheros. Although at the end of the Marvel Run, it started getting bad with the Ninjas, and Transformers. Still I plan on incorporating the Hasbro Superheros with my Joe verse. Although giving them ranks seems sort of silly. I can see Nick Fury fitting in, and maybe even the Captain (but that outfit makes him commander of the Neon brigade.) Maybe I should make them Cobras.
It just wouldn't be fun for me if one crazy powerful Marvel character could take out the whole Cobra base by himself.

Fury is a seasoned unarmed and armed combat expert, was a heavyweight boxer in the army (during World War II), and holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu. He has honed his unarmed combat skills sparring with Captain America.
Fury is a combat veteran of three wars (World War II, Korea, Vietnam), plus numerous "military advisor" missions and clandestine operations ("a dozen conflicts you've never even heard of"). He is trained as a paratrooper, a Ranger (commando), a demolitions expert, and a vehicle specialist (including aircraft and seagoing vessels). He has received Green and Black Beret Special Forces training. Fury has access to a wide variety of equipment and weaponry designed by S.H.I.E.L.D. technicians. He wears a S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform made of 9-ply Kevlar (able to withstand ballistic impact up to .45 caliber bullets) and a Beta Cloth (type C), a fire-resistant material whose kindling temperature is 1,700 °F (930 °C). I can't wait for this guy.

I love hearing about everyone's Joeverse. Like in Mine serpentor doesn't exist, always thought he was retarded and that CC was way more awesome.
I'm unsure about the marvel characters. I may buy deadpool but that is about it. Never was a huge fan of Marvel stuff. Why would Cobra be split off into all these other areas? people like Bludd firefly and zartan work for cc cause of his money, they wouldn't leave cobra. Destro makes some sense and the IG's I understand. What I would like to see is a rival organization that comes up and is swiftly crushed by cobra. I think that would make an interesting story. More so that infighting in cobra.

I think it's the nature of the beast with Cobra and different factions forming. Some, like Bludd and Firefly, would be okay with getting paid and taking orders. Bludd is a Major, he's used to being the guy taking orders and carrying 'em out. I think he's satisfied with that.
But there are some guys that just need to be in charge, or think they can do a better job. Overlord strikes me as like that. Serpentor and CC couldn't co-exist as co-leaders of Cobra, one or the other would have to go. Destro can play the underling for only so long before his ego gets control and he has to step up and assume control. If Cobra was made up of nothing but Major Bludds, there'd never be an issue, but some guys will always want to end up doing their own thing. Some guys would join Cobra in order to gain their own forces.

Urg I don't know enough about Overlord.
Destro seems kinda of a unique part of Cobra, he runs his own organization yet is part of CC's inner circle, that's just asking for trouble. One of the things i really like about the new movie is how he heads MARS and they are the lead up into Cobra for the film.

I love Overlord. I think he is always plotting his next move to take over. Yet an obedient soldier. He is commander of Cobra Armor Forces. I view him like Saladin. He was the most successful and daring General for the Syrian Empire and gained so much territory for himself that eventually he takes over most of the Middle East.
Overlord doesn't have much background. I think they were going to make him a sort of Cobra Commander incognito Character, when the original CC died in the Marvel Comics. I don't know if he made it into the Cartoons. Then in the Devil's Due run he got more Fleshed out as an Agent working with Duke and Snake Eyes and Kamakura on some mission where he betrays them to Cobra. Later when Serpentor is Reborn he turns up as Overlord Serpentor's General of the Coil forces. The convention version 2 Figure furthers this along as he comes with the Coil troopers in that pack. Apparently the Coil had been working to recreate Serpentor as the leader for Cobra. Why Overlord didn't just take the mantle I don't know. He also kills Chuckles when the Joes invade Cobra Island. He appears to have been killed or Buried alive later on as he escapes the invasion. Personally I have Cobra divided into forces loyal to Cobra Commander and those loyal to Serpentor. They are both heads of State and the nation of Cobra has taken over various small countries around the world. The two hate each other but since there is enough money and power to go around they somehow coexist. Cobra Commander along with Major Bludd and the Twins makes the money, kidnaps the Scientists threatens the world with all types of hostile take overs. He lives somewhere in Eastern Europe in one of those Countries Cobra has established a stranglehold on. ie Ruslan, Borovia, Fruseland. Serpentor based on Cobra Island, with Overlord and Mindbender at his side, runs the mercenary Army component of Cobra. So if some dictator needs to quell a rebellion, Who do you call? Serpentor. Of course there is the possibility Cobra might technically take over your country. Forces loyal to Serpentor, well the Coil, Coil bikers, Track-Vipers, Range Vipers, Jungle Vipers, Night-Vipers, Frag-Vipers, and V2 HEAT Vipers. Some of the basic units mix in, but that makes the back bone of his Armor/Mechanized Infantry Division. Overlord likes this war machine Serpentor Runs and has a lot of autonomy. He is probably tied for the #3 spot on the totem poll within Cobra. Once you mix in Destro, and Baron Ironblood, and Black Dragon he slides to 6th with Baroness, the twins and Darklon and Gen Mayham. |

Man, you guys did some serious posting yesterday. I checked in last night and was like, "Wow".
Loose Cannon, I think I'm going to have to try and find an Overlord figure... he sounds interesting. There have been a lot of threads recently about Marvel Characters versus members of the Joe Team. I've read and posted to a few, but something Troynos said in one of his Posts a few pages back made me think... He basically said that if Clint Barton were in the Joeverse, he would be a normal guy and that the Joes could take him. But because he's a Marvel Hero, that puts him on a higher level. I see the point, but if that's the case, I wonder if it makes any sense at all to compare these characters. A guy like Wolverine or Spider-Man probably just couldn't exist in the Joeverse. Neither could a guy like Bullseye, and maybe not even Cap. Heroes have to be vulnerable in Joeverse. And enemies have to be real, and to some degree, believable.
