She had something to do with the Chaplain's Assistants, wasn't attached to the Motor Pool (like the Joes were). I think she was a Captain. Was a tough captain to, if I remember right.

One question that is always floating around in my mind is how the Joes originated conceptually. I've always assumed, though carefully, that the Joes were born by way of artistic sketches, then passed on to Hama to write personalities and histories for the comic. I suppose Hama could have written these characters from scratch and then gave them to an artist to render but I hear very little about Hasbro's design or art team. Someone obviously creates the likenesses, but what came first? The likeness or the written character? It would explain a lot if an artist just drew a figure of Snake Eyes or Duke, and then Hasbro decided they would make the toys, and then Hama was given the go ahead to develop the characters.

Hama had a group called Fury Force created that he was pitching to Marvel when G.I. Joe came around.
So yeah, that's my question. Which came first? The figure design and Hama fleshed it out?

She was assigned to the Chaplain's Assistant Motor Pool like all the early Joes. She was pretty tough. She made Scarlett look like a Girl Scout. Like all the other qualifications, no women are allowed in Special Forces, Ranger School, or the Infantry. Women can go to Airborne School. Women can go to Intelligence, and some women are recruited for the Intelligence Support Activity - but never Delta Force.

Yeah, just looked up on YoJoe, Sargeant Craig.
G.I. Joe Comic Book Archive Yep, she would have kicked Scarlett's ass, no doubt about it.

Troynos is right; he adapted his idea for "Fury Force" which was supposed to star Nick Fury's son leading a commando team... this was adapted and it became separated from the rest of the Marvel Universe (to some extent). Although, contrary to what a certain member of this thread has said elsewhere, I think the Joe team would have given quite a few Marvel characters a run for their money. Captain America and Wolverine would have had their hands full with Snake-Eyes and Stormshadow. General Hawk would have had Nick Fury standing at attention. Hawkeye would have been a morning workout for Flint, or Duke, or Stalker or Beachhead. Bullseye? Firefly would have just blown him up.

The Joes are tough, but they're not super-hero tough.

I asked Larry this question a few months ago and the designs were finalized when he got to them and then he fleshed them out.

Rereading the synopsis of Declassified, the Shooter issues. It says Short-Fuze was about to wash out of Ranger school. So did he complete it? It seems like he did, since he lasted 7 days in the evasion and capture drill.
So would Short-Fuze be a Ranger? Also, Duke and Roadblock are the trainers when Short-Fuze was there.

Im in total agreement, I think if the Joes did exist in the MU it would have taken alot out of it for me. They would be fighting Hydra or tracking the Hulk.
