I wonder if Hama knew who these guys were suppose to be? I mean I figure every Joe from Rhode Island is a Hasbro employee tribute figure. Maybe these people wrote there own stuff. And Larry never used the subteam stuff did he, except Pythonized. I missed a few comics during that period so I can't say for certain.
I don't think Hasbro would take too kindly to staff members just writing paragraphs for filecards when they have hired an outside worker to do that. Also Tiger Force was used in Special Missions

Well, I'm glad you like the figure. He's certainly one of my favorites. As a child, Tacker's uniform - or lack thereof - really bothered me. I read his qualifications... Navy SEAL, Southerner, expert tracker (can find Snake-Eyes and Spirit within 12 hours)... the guy was supposed to be awesome. But his "costume" was just stupid. It was awful.
So I waited, and waited, and waited... I thought, surely they'll make a version 2 of Tracker. But they never did. |

I missed so many of those great special missions comics. Did they hire an outside worker to do that? Maybe they didn't write their own stuff but gave Larry the BS they wanted him to add. There is an unproportionately large number of joes from RI. Maybe it was like the weekly raffle at Hasbro. Like how Dusty's file name was from a Hasbro employee. |

I passed on the comic pack one so I'd be sure to get the element. Worked out well.

I probably will, but I'm not rushing out to get them. I may wait to pick them up on clearance. I'd pass completely but a few of them look like nice updates to versions of the characters I prefer.

Yeah, if see the new 5-packs on clearance, I'll get 'em. Nothing really there I want except the Baroness. The Flint I have is fine, hate the 5-pack face.
I don't have Shipwreck, but I can live with that. I got Lady Jaye from the DVD Pack. Have enough Snake-Eyes. Hawk isn't different enough to warrant getting another. Don't like the Storm Shadow. Have enough CCs. Got a Zartan from Wave 11 and that's good enough. Not liking the chrome plated Viper. Baroness is the only figure I want.

Special Missions were the best. No soap opera stuff, pure military action. I enjoyed those more then I did the main Joe book.
#17 was always one of my favorites: G.I. Joe Comic Book Archive #23 was good: G.I. Joe Comic Book Archive I have scans of the Marvel stuff. It's kind of funny, most of my favorite Joes only appeared in Special Missions (or made most of their appearances in Special Missions). #7 was good too. It showed Pysche-Out how I think he should have always been, as a profiler. http://www.yojoe.com/comics/sm/sm7.shtml

I was watching the military channel last night about the German GSG-9 and I don't remember the Joes on too many Hostage missions which I would assume they would be ideal for. Well I have like 4 or 5 Special Missions. I feel like I was cheated in my youth. |

I looked up Montana Joes and there is only one. Sci-Fi of all people... Really? a Laser operator from Montana? and Geraldine? I'd never even heard of it. There's like maybe 8 big places in Montana, Geraldine isn't one of em. Just found it slightly funny. Montana needs more Joes, woot for being one of the largest yet least mentioned states.

By the way, I visited Montana once, and it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. I stayed for a week in Billings... I'd go back in a heartbeat.
