I'm liking the PITT. It'll at least make for a good display.

AWE Strikers?
I hadn't considered RAMs cuz i dont really like the way the figures fit on them (willing to give that a second look, now) but hawks, dillos & strikers all make up my assault force. something about the seeing them all being the same color together is very cool. I would have a cavalry/Fast Attack element of wheeled vehicles to compliment any Armor tracked vehicles. Choices would be: VAMP RAM APC VAMP Mark II AWE STRIKERS Persuaders(not sure but they seem like they would be faster than a tank) Eliminator Maurader Silver Mirage Desert Fox Mean Dog Tiger Paw Tiger Cat Hammer/Brawler Badger Attack Cruiser MudBuster Monster Blaster APC Sand Razors Assault Quads Battle Blitz Desert Coyotes Split Fire QuickStrike Jungle Strike/Desert/Night Ops Humvees (one of the best designs) The Following although wheel are so big the may serve as their own HQ element: Rolling Thunder Battle Wagon ROCC RHINO General Not every vehicle would come but they could be broken down into teams. I would say a Fast attack team would be a troop carrier, 4-8 jeeps/Hummers, 1 or 2 motorcycles, one unique vehicle like the Mean Dog and then 4 of the really small ones like the Coyote or battle Blitz. RHINOs would have a lot of function built in with the Helicopter, so this would be ideal to have maybe on any team. Rapid-Fire would be Ideal as a team lead for one of these. |

So an Assault Team would be comprised of 3 elements.
Calvarly/Fast Attack element Armor element Infantry element Infantry would be broken down into: Heavy Weapons, Anti-Armor, Anti-Air, EOD, Medic, Communications, what else? So the infantry element would have 1 of each speciality, plus 3-4 infantry guys (Grunt, Footloose, who else??) Each element has a commander, each assault team has a commander, and there's an overall assault team commander.

Topside, the AWE (driven by Crankcase) would be part of one of the Assault Teams, it would be that team's jeep/fast moving vehicle unit. The VAMP would be another one, with the other jeeps in the other teams.
Armadillos and RAM cycles would make up the rest of the vehicles. |

Yeah. Put the Mobat with the VAMP and the Mauler with the AWE and you have the start of 2 Assault Teams.

Naval Assault team would be comprised of 2 parts: Sea and Amphibious. The Sea element would support the amphibious assault (crew on the WHALE). Amphibious would be SEaLs
The Sea element would be for ship to ship fighting, boardings/seizures, and support. Shipwreck, Topside, Deep-Six would be part of the sea element. Torpedo, Wet-Suit, Tracker, Wetdown would be the amphibious part (double tasked for covert ops). Leatherneck, Gung-Ho and the other Marines would be part of the amphibious element. I'd put Rampart with the Amphibioius Assault as their heavy weapons/anti-armor guy. I think that would be the best use for him as he is currently geared out.

But this is maybe when guys like Stalker, Duke, Recoil, Leatherneck and Beachhead are part of this larger assault force. You would probably want your best infantry guys to show up. Guys like Grunt and Footloose would serve as glorified GreenShirts squad commanders. I think the Joes would rarely need to use Armor or Helicopters unless assaulting heavily fortified targets. Where the risk of collateral damage would be too great for a nice Tomahawk up the Wazoo. |

I'd envisioned the sneak/black ops guys as independant of the assault teams, but I like including some of 'em with the assault teams.
So say Stalker and Beachhead are part of Team 1, they can then be seperated out for recon/covert ops as part of Team 1's mission profile. This would also allow the Joes to be deployed worldwide and be able to rapidly respond to any emergency with force or covert. Team 1 could be in Sierra Gordo, for example. If they need help, the Naval Element is (fairly rapidly) able to be deployed off the Flagg to reinforce them. Or can (with more planning and time) move Team 2 out of Europe or Team 3 out of Asia.

when i was a kid i never really had an interest in them and now that i'm older and working on my display room space is a problem. my goal is to build a Cobra Island dio with the Joes launching an attack on that from a custom built LHD. they will encounter a MARS freighter on its way to Cobra Island with a shipment of HISSs & FANGs. And thats when the stuff will hit the fan. this is constantly changing in my mind as to what figures & vehicles i need/want and now i've gotten into the idea of a cold weather mission and want to do a smaller scale dio with my snowcat, battle bear and some arctic HISSs when they finally come out. |
