So let's say that Cobra declares all out war on the Joes--I mean they decide to launch every cobra soldier, every single piece of armor and aircraft. A full scale assault and the Joes must defend with every man, woman and piece of weaponry they have. Since your Joes can't be in two places at once, who mans what vehicle and what station for the playsets?
In other words, who's in the Devilfish? Who's riding shotgun with Clutch in the VAMP? Who's helping man the Mobile Command Center and Defiant? Who's working the main gun in the Headquarters? Is anyone keeping security on the prison cell? Who's on the bridge with Keel-Haul in the Flagg? What aircraft are stationed on the deck? Where's your FLAK based? Who's keeping a lookout in the watchtower,in the bivouac and the mortar defense unit? What vehicles are towing the Whirlwind and the HAL? Feel free to take your time with this and/or divide stuff up into sections. You may use multiple versions of the same character if you like. For instance, Duke might fly with Wild Bill in the Dragonfly, while Tiger Force Duke rides sho-go in the Tomahawk. I did have a pretty good list for this but I modified it to include BBI aircraft and tanks. I'll see if I can find the original draft with all the Joes divided up into different Joe vehicles before I added the BBI stuff. Anyway, one way to do it would be to break it down to years. Anyone who didn't get a vehicle or battle station could go to a later year like roll over minutes. So not including the drivers 1982 FLAK-Grunt RAM-Snake-Eyes Shotgun in the VAMP-Hawk(since they will be towing the MMS) JUMP-Stalker(I always gave it to Starduster) 1983 Whirlwind-Rock'n'Roll APC-Gung-Ho and Doc HQ-Scarlett and Breaker on the console Zap on the main cannon Flash on the stand-up gun MANTA-Torpedo Dragonfly copilot-Airborne of course Skystiker copilot-Tripwire PolarBear-Snowjob (I left out the Falcon I know but I don't own one) 1984 Skyhawk-Duke Whale-I always used the Renegades but I guess Spirit and Mutt Howitzer-Recondo (I never owned the following) Bivuoac-Ripcord Missle Defense Unit-Blowtorch Mortar defense unit-Short-Fuse Machine Gun Defense Unit-Roadblock watch tower-hmmm now I'm out of guys and I have another problem with the VAMPII since I don't use guys twice I need a better method. |

I'm the one with Steeler running the motorpool. I really never give it much thought. I always assume that the joes have to be able to do most of their own repairs. Steeler just happens to be the highest ranking vehicle driver whose secondary is Transportation. My Steeler is a Major too. So I figure he's in charge of all the vehicles, and their maintenance. Plus he spends so much Time in the motorpool in the comics. Almost every panels he's in, well half at least ,he's in there with Clutch.
I divide my forces into : Infantry/Artillery; Hawk/Rey Armor/Cavalry; Austin/Flagg Jr Air/Airborne; Colton/Payload/Ace HQ/Snow; Hollingsworth/Courage Urban Flagg Sr./Flint Sea/Jungle- Keel-Haul/Duke 0-10Colton; 0-9Hawk; Keel-Haul; Austin; 0-8Duke; FlaggSr; Hollingsworth; 0-7Rey;FlaggJr.;Payload 0-6Courage;Flint;Ace Well that's my non-custom line up. |

In my joeverse the Motor Pool and other such "background" things are run by non-Joes, a set of support staff. The officers of the support staff are code-named and have a large contingent of "greenshirts" working for them.
If had to use already existing Joes, I'd have Skidmark be in charge of the Motor Pool, he seems like he'd be a stickler for paperwork and keep it running orderly. Steeler is field commander of the Armor.

To answer Tanksmasher..
My Joe Force would be a "hit 'em and hit 'em quick" kind of response. A large part would be back at HQ in defense mode, but all the sneaky-black ops guys would be out and about doing what they do best. They'd be assigned into small-quick units. Depending on what their mission is, they'd have helicopter and vehicle support. This is when I'd actually recall the Ninjas from their training Dojos, they'd be let loose behind enemy lines and told to "just go do ninja-y stuff". Basically, they're let loose to do whatever they want to the enemy. Cause as much havoc as possible. If they can sneak in and assassinate CC or other Cobra leaders, go ahead and do it. Hawk gives the Ninjas carte-blanche. The same goes for the other black ops guys. Alot of 'em are let loose with little to go on and orders to do what they do best. In my joeverse, Cobra vastly outnumbers the Joes and if they ever unleash their full power at once.. the Joes have to throw the rulebook out the window. Hawk would also probably set up shop in the Mobile Command Center to make it as hard as possible for Cobra to get to him. So alot of 4-6 man squads. Alot of the squad set-up would be determined by when Cobra launches the attack and who is stationed where. Also matters where Cobra attacks. Just the PITT? All Joe bases (the arctic station, Tiger Force base, etc..)?

So looking at this preview, is that Rock'n'Roll? Because it almost seems like his shirt says "Marine Recon" Or is it Hollow-Point? |
