Blood For The Baron!!! - View topic - CHECK THIS OUT
This is what I saw. i think the comicpack clip I saw is based in the arctic with Snow Job, but she is in this uniform. An obvious nod to Action Force. |

Doesn't Clutch run the motor pool?! Those guys would be Joes in Aberdeen at the proving grounds testing new, experimental gear and using reverse technology on Cobra stuff to figure out what makes it "tick"....

I don't see Clutch running anything, I see him as the guy that won't let anyone else touch his "baby" (the V.A.M.P.).
I actually see Skidmark as the guy that runs the Motor Pool.

I would say that Steeler technically runs the Motor pool, but Dodger is the head grease monkey. I imagine some of the Heavy Equipment operators can turn a wrench too, but Clutch probably is after Dodger in Rank.

So let's say that Cobra declares all out war on the Joes--I mean they decide to launch every cobra soldier, every single piece of armor and aircraft. A full scale assault and the Joes must defend with every man, woman and piece of weaponry they have. Since your Joes can't be in two places at once, who mans what vehicle and what station for the playsets?
In other words, who's in the Devilfish? Who's riding shotgun with Clutch in the VAMP? Who's helping man the Mobile Command Center and Defiant? Who's working the main gun in the Headquarters? Is anyone keeping security on the prison cell? Who's on the bridge with Keel-Haul in the Flagg? What aircraft are stationed on the deck? Where's your FLAK based? Who's keeping a lookout in the watchtower,in the bivouac and the mortar defense unit? What vehicles are towing the Whirlwind and the HAL? Feel free to take your time with this and/or divide stuff up into sections. You may use multiple versions of the same character if you like. For instance, Duke might fly with Wild Bill in the Dragonfly, while Tiger Force Duke rides sho-go in the Tomahawk. I did have a pretty good list for this but I modified it to include BBI aircraft and tanks. I'll see if I can find the original draft with all the Joes divided up into different Joe vehicles before I added the BBI stuff. Last edited by Tanksmasher; 01-24-2009 at 04:54 PM.. |

Tanksmasher, that's a really interesting idea; I just don't use my Joes that way. I don't assign them to a vehicle, unless they are specifically a vehicle driver... but even in that case, there are exceptions (Tiger Force Recondo was replaced as the Tiger Fly pilot by Wild Bill). I suppose I try to figure out what the mission will be, then I select the team or group for the mission, and then I select the equipment I need for the mission. All my personnel-vehicle assignments are ad hoc and Mission Dependent.
I never use more than one version of a named character at a time. If my Tiger Force Duke is occupied, then every Duke is occupied. Night Force Duke stays on the shelf... I see the different versions of a character more as different uniforms. Above, a few posts back, a fellow Tanker mentioned that Steeler would be in charge of the Motor Pool. I can't quite figure that one out. He's an Armor Officer, so I use Steeler as a Tank Commander - that seems to me to be what an Armor officer should be doing. To the best of my knowledge, I believe Steeler is the only Armor Officer in G.I. Joe. That being the case, I use him as the commander of all my Tanks... which, I think is a fairly significant command. He's the G.I. Joe Armor commander. Now that's a pretty significant position for a LT, so in my Joe verse I've promoted him to Major... I figure he had it coming: he's an original Joe, Hawk's been promoted at least twice, why not Steeler? So, in my regular Joe Army (non sub-team/Intelligence) is lead by Gen. Flagg (son of the original) Colonel Courage is the XO/G-3 and the CSM is Rock & Roll. I have 4 Army Commands: Infantry, Artillery, Armor, and Logistics Infantry is commanded by Major Bullet Proof The Rangers work under this command: Commanded by Capt. Grid-Iron Armor is commanded by Major Steeler Artillery is commanded by Major Barrage Logistics are commanded by Major Storm Gen. Flagg's office is at Joe HQ, and all the Joe Army offices are there as well because the Joe Army is stationed there. The Joe Air Force (commanded by Payload) also handles all helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. Because of the smaller nature of the Joe Team, there was no need for a separate Army Air Wing. They are HQed at teh Joe Air Field, and Payload's office in in Joe HQ The Joe Navy is HQ on the USS Flagg. Keel-Haul is the Commander of all Joe Naval Forces, which includes some Air Craft, the Navy SEALs, 2 Patrols of Recon Marines, and a full staff for the Flagg. Cutter acts as the Navy XO. Keel Haul has an office at Joe HQ, but the Navy stays at sea. Special Operations is Commanded by Gen. Colton - since he's a Green Beret. LTC. Sure Fire handles all Spec Ops ground operations, and LTC. Skystriker commands all Spec Ops Air. Major Claymore Commands all Intelligence/Black Ops. Lt. Stone works as his Officer In Charge of Intelligence. Captain Falcon commands all sub-teams.
