If you are referring to embarkers, that would not be done by pilots, it is an enlisted MOS that is trained in well, embarking. Planes are loaded by a combination of a crew chief/load master and the embarkers. Don't forget air delivery platoon as well-they rig equipment for parachute drops, sort of the "special operations" embarking and logistics, at least in the USMC LOL.

Thanks for the links!
Interesting in the first article it states the CBIRF was stood up in 1996 but later says they were on readiness for the 1991 State of the Union address..... Since you incorporate both civilian and military personnel in your Joe structure who would be the overall person in charge? Would it be commanded by a someone in the military or a civilian? Cool unit, with a unique job. |

Not to derail the conversation, but is anybody got the Larry Hama figure and are you incorporating him somehow into your Joeverse?
You mentioned Tyroc having the Civilian/Military Jugglers running the Joes. I too have the Jugglers running things but mine are all military. (Colton, Austin, Hollingsworth, Keel-Haul, LJ Flagg, Sharpe) However I have plenty of MTF figures that look the part of CIA/SAD or whatever secret Government agency fits(S.H.I.E.L.D) Not even sure what I will do whenever Eagle Force shows up. Still I haven't figured out how to add him yet. - I'm shamelessly stealing this from the creation of The Marine Corps Special Operations Command Detachment One (MCSOCOM Detachment One or Det 1) where two officers and two senior enlisted (an E-9 and E-8 from memory) were charged with the creation of the unit. They got the proposal from higher ups and they had to figure out the nuts and bolts ; like literally how many operators, how many support staff, what weapons do they get and where do they get it from. That sort of thing. Hama had a cameo as a EUCOM general in Rise of Cobra and a Joe designer (and member of the Joe community) Troy McKie created a great custom which is the inspiration for my use of him. Credit to him and I'm using the image taken off the internet (without permission) I use the others that you do (Hollingsworth, Austin, etc) as other members of the board, some civilian (ex-Military)and some military. I don't have any Marauders yet, but I have spaces for them in the Special Activities branch of the Task Force, but I haven't fleshed it out fully yet. As for Eagle Force. I'm leaning on using them as the Special Tactics Team attached to the Joes. They can work on their own or join Joe elements as required. |

On another note I am still trying to pigeonhole my Mobility Troop. My thought was to have Mobility Troops in each Sabre Squadron but for a unit that specializes in WMD I would think they would need a dedicated transportation section to haul away heavy weapons from secured weapons sites that the Joes capture. So my thought was still having Mobility Troops for assault and in some cases acting as the "taxi drivers" for the other Troops (HALO, SCUBA, and Mountain) during large assaults but also having a separate transportation squadron.
https://www.globalsecurity.org/milit.../63-21/CH9.htm I use Steel Brigade as my support guys, so all the drivers etc are just Steel Brigade Deltas. I have a ton of Steel Brigade like figures from that old Hulk movie line. I bought them dirt cheap from Hong Kong sellers. I think at one point I got a bag of 50 for about $30 US and he sent me extras just to get rid of them. https://www.yojoe.com/action/11/steelbrigadedelta.shtml |

Not to change the subject, but does anybody know why Monkeywrench (the poster, not the Dreadnok) got banned? He started out on this thread if I remember correctly.

Yes, I have added him recently. That’s a good question.
I’ll pretend he is an advisor to the G.I. Joe team, with the highest clearance level. He mysteriously seems to have unlimited knowledge about everyone in the G.I. Joeverse, and nobody has figured out yet that he is in part, their creator. Larry Hama knows that they are all make believe characters, but he keeps that information to himself for now. Nice. I still haven't opened mine yet. I don't. Was it recent?

I use Larry Hama as a General and advisor on the Military-Civilian board that Colton oversees. In my backstory, Hama was a mid level officer who helped create the Table of Distribution & Allowances (TDA) that becomes the Joe Team.

Don't feel bad, I am actually going the same route with my Joe team as far as mimicking DETONE. Lol Quote:
I think this would fall under the responsibility of some sort of Containment unit. If you follow the Marine set up of a CBIRF, then maybe swap out the Decontamination unit as is seems like the role is very different for your force. Your Joes aren't responding to a contamination incident, they are actively looking for WMDs around the world. Big pieces too. So where are they going to be looking for these rogue lost weapons? I mean if you can't fly it out then you really can't drive it out either unless it's in the US. Because driving up to some fortress stronghold in trucks is probably not very covert, so these trucks would have to be in theater somewhere already. Your Mobility troop would still need to have it's role using light trucks and Humvees for attacking the facility or cave or downtown office building or what have you. Generally if they can dismantle the rocket and remove the questionable materials it probably fits into a grocery bag and doesn't need to be hauled away. Just blow it up. If its some huge stockpile then I guess it would just get loaded into trucks and the Support teams would start hauling it away in a convoy and hope they don't get attacked.
Good points. My thought has been similar to how the second Joe movie depicted the Joe team as in taking down the building (I think it was set in Pakistan?) with the WMD. The Joe team sends in assaulters and then a transportation crew comes in and secures the warheads for transportation. I would imagine for warheads and even nuclear warheads it would take some sort of training to know how to safely load, secure and transport these kinds of munitions. Hence why I was thinking of a transportation unit who are trained for this kind of task. |

Just when you thought you discovered everything in the file cards:
Carl "Doc" Greer (v.2) 2010, in spite of being a pacifist, has a "preferred weapon": The "820 selective-fire, long-range fully automatic assault rifle!" I guess it's true what they say. Reality trumps ideology every time. |
