I would say yes. I mean that is the most highly sought after path for Green Berets to come from. They would probably be all over Stalker.

either Ranger > SF or Ranger > Delta would be plausible from what I've read. Delta seems to recruit Rangers rather more than Green Berets.

Yeah, I think I read that in Mark Bowden's "Black Hawk Down". IIRC, most of the early Delta operators were SF, but I'm not sure when it changed.

Okay, so what type of recoilless rifle is Downtown using? And would a mortar soldier be qualified to operate one? (I'm assuming "yes," by the way.)

It could have been intended as a new type of recoilless rifle by the toy sculptor, or it might have been influenced by WWII pictures of an M18 recoilless rifle. The designer might have mistaken the sight for a carrying handle, because soldiers could hold the fold-down section as a sort of extra handle when shoulder firing the weapon. It’s the venturi on the back that is unmistakable (clearly intended for recoilless ammunition use). If it were a mortar, it would instead be a tube set upon a baseplate. This recoilless rifle is intended as a direct fire infantry weapon, so Downtown is using it incorrectly in the card art painted illustration. Note: some Kurds have been videotaped being reckless that way, using them for indirect fire, but even they are smart enough to attach a cord and stand away at a distance when firing. Downtown would have lost his feet, I think. The tripod also has a capstan shaped as if it were supposed to be a weapon sight attached to it, but has nothing on it to be used as a mortar. If the artist was intending Downtown to have an M18 recoilless rifle, then that is one wacky attempt at a M1917A1 tripod, and the weird sight might be a misunderstanding of the traverse wheel. I really don’t know what they were referencing when they created that tri-pod. While Short-Fuze was a mortar man skilled with artillery and engineer calculations, Downtown was an Infantryman and Special Ops guy. (As a fun “by-the-way”, in 2016 the Army went back to using recoilless rifles for their Infantry/Special Ops soldiers. Heck, even land mines are back now.) Recoilless rifles don’t need a special MOS, just a training course will do for infantryman. I guess the same can be said about mortars, but they do have a specialty MOS that’s also available, and can fire upon more distant targets.

Okay, a lot of JOEs are small arms armorers. I suppose they have am MOS of 91F (small arms repairer)? What exactly would these JOEs be doing in their off time? Cleaning handguns?

Weapons will not only need to be maintained for operational cleanliness, but repaired too because of the rough handling and harsh environments that the G.I. Joes take them through. But don’t forget about the artillery guns. Many of the G.I. Joe toys and vehicles feature systems that would be the responsibility of the MOS 91F Small Arms/Artillery Repairer. Clutch and Cover Girl would both be saying, “I don’t have time to fix that. You do it.” If you have an attention span of four minutes or longer, try to watch all of this video. You’ll value and understand that MOS even better.

Doesn't seem very glorious, but obviously very neccessary. How many Joes are Armorers?
Grunt, Duke, Blowtorch, Beachhead?

That's a great start to the list. I would add Charbroil also. There's probably others.

The only other ones I could find were Mercer, Rumbler and good old Hard Drive who specializes in just about everything.
