The BF2000 characters are alive and kicking in my JOE-verse. Their stuff is way to experimental to be allowed to be captured on the field by Cobra or any other terrorist organization, so Hawk faked their deaths and they are performing some serious R&D in an undisclosed location.
I mean, seriously, Maverick just happened to be flying over his buddies in his jet when Cobra Commander launched a lucky shot? Don't make me laugh. |

They faked Sneek-Peak's death during the same Battle so why not? My Battle Action Force team is all alive and well, with a much expanded roster.

So here is a general question. I am still organizing teams in my verse. Which Joes do we think qualify for Team Leader status? As in they have either the rank or seniority in Joe to lead a squad of 4-6 Joes. For me, every team member is at least an E-5. Figure Hawk, Keel-Haul, Flagg and Col Courage are too senior to be going in the field and stay at the base.
Here are some obvious ones: Duke Flint Falcon Beachhead Stalker Capt Gridiron Claymore Scarlett? Gung-ho? Not so obvious: Lady Jaye? Torpedo (leads my SEALs based on rank / seniority) Sub Zero (based on rank) Major Barrage (based on rank) Roadblock? Sgt Slaughter (he is retired in my verse) Who am I missing? Based on comics, cartoons, filecards, etc. |

hmm. I will put everyone I can think of E-8 to O-4, who would fill in naturally as a team leader. I have changed some ranks, but nothing too drastic, maybe a grade or two. However, a team (Squad) that is only 4-6 should be totally in the abilities of anyone E-4 and above, but for the sake of argument we'll consider the advanced ranks of most Joes, so E-7s might be sweet spot for small team leaders like that.
Potential Team leaders: Bullet-Proof (O-4) Steel Brigade Commander (O-4) "Ironhide" (he needs a codename) Psyche-Out (O-3) Gears (O-3) Super Trooper (O-2) Matt Trakker (CW-5) (my suggested Rank) SGM Richard "Brawn" Cecil (E-9) Mercer V2 Doubleblast (E-8) Lt. Stone (O-2) {Sigma Six a member of AF for me} Stalker (E-9) Beachhead (E-8) Promoted (Although E-9 in DDP) Sub-Zero (O-3) Blizzard (E-8) Major Storm (O-4) Steeler (O-3) Promoted Thunderwing (O-2) Major Barrage (O-4) Rapid-Fire (O-4) Promoted Grid-Iron (O-3) Sgt Savage (E-9) Promoted Lt. Torpedo (O-3) Promoted Lt. Dolphin (O-2) Wet-Down (CW-5) Talbot (WO-2) Promoted Major Stone (Extreme) Gung-Ho (E-9) Cutter (O-3) Shipwreck (E-8) Big Brawler (E-8) Claymore (O-4) Falcon (O-3) Skip (O-3) Flint (CW-4) Duke (E-9) Big-Ben (E-8) Rock'n'Roll (E-8) Barrel-Roll (O-2) Was an officer in DDP Skydive (E-9) Swapped Promoted Altitude (E-8) Swapped Demoted Airwave (E-8) Drop-Zone (E-8) Sgt Rock (E-8) (Retaliation Roadblock) E-7 Sweet Spot (Some I have Promoted a rank or two depending on length of time in the Joes. Designated by a (P) All just suggestions) Dodger (E-7) Hot-Seat (E-7) Mainframe (E-7)P Armadillo (E-7) Grand-Slam (E-7)P Shockwave (E-7) Lowlight (E-7)P Spirit (E-7) Roadblock (E-7) Outback (E-7)P Repeater (E-7)P Dusty (E-7)P Shooter (E-7) Hardtop (E-7)P Snow Job (E-7) Cold Front (E-7) Long-Range (E-7) Tollbooth (E-8)P Steam-Roller (E-7)P Zap (E-7) Salvo (E-7) Grunt (E-7)P Cross-Fire (E-7) Deep-Six (E-8)P Tracker (E-7) Mariner (E-7) Wet-Suit (E-7)P Recondo (E-7) Lady Jaye (E-7) Breaker (E-7)P Ripcord (E-7)P SGT Six (E-7) Airborne (E-7)P Static-line (E-7) Last group but they sort of over lap: Action Man (O-4) Scarlett (O-3) Promoted. She should be an officer more than almost anyone at this point. I think IDW has her as a Colonel, which they did with Duke as well. If Duke goes past O-4 then so should Flint. Chuckles (CW-3)P Snake-Eyes (E-8) Dojo (E-8) Mace (E-8) Natalie Poole (E-7) TjBang (E-7) Quick-Kick (E-6)P Jinx (E-6)P

Thanks for putting the list together. I would say your promotions make sense. And in a unit like the joes, an E-7 or higher sounds about right.

Just to add to your list; Airborne - ARAH # 242 (Leatherneck, Long Range, Rock ‘n Roll) Cutter - ARAH # 40 (Deep Six, Gung Ho, Recondo, Snake Eyes, Tripwire) Dodger - ARAH # 113 (Maverick, Avalanche, Knockdown, Blaster, Blocker, Dee-Jay) Grand Slam - ARAH # 82 (Budo, Lightfoot, Repeater - Training Evolution) Iceberg - ARAH # 167 (Frostbite, Cold Front, Blizzard) Outback - ARAH - missing issue number (Dusty, Throw Down, Cover Girl, Bazooka) Zap - ARAH # 17 (Flash, Grunt, Short Fuze, Rock ‘n Roll) Also from DDP; Jinx - Special Missions Tokyo (Gung Ho, Clutch, R&R, Wild Bill, Budo) Mercer - ARAH v2 # 24 (Flash, Hacker, Jinx, Mainframe - Sabotage of Cobra Island defenses Hope it helps |

Welcome to the thread guys,

I would say Leatherneck (E-7) or Rock N Roll (due to seniority w/ the team) would be over him. Outback is another interesting one. I think he was the Team Leader in that special mission with Dusty, Lightfoot and Mangler as well. Also, read an article yesterday about Marine Raiders in Syria. https://taskandpurpose.com/marine-is...-fight-awards/ I now need to add a Spec Ops Duty Corpsman to my Joes. I like a medic that fights back: "According to the citation, the special operations independent duty corpsman (a specialized and more rigorously-trained version of the Navy “Doc”) came under heavy fire from concealed enemy positions roughly 500 meters away during an operation on Aug. 27, 2016. As his teammates sought cover behind vehicles, the doc threw smoke to obscure their position and grabbed a MK13 sniper rifle and suppressed the enemy positions until all were silenced.” |

Stretcher is the most open to reassignment as a Corpman.

EDIT: Forgot to add that in my Joe-verse Torpedo is an O-3 so I place him with my other low-ranking officers in leading several small 4-6 man teams. |
