Interesting. Which Action Man do you use?
I have "the Original" Mike Brogan a Major Gen. Matt Exler, that they used the Tracker figure for in the Night Force set as a Lt. Cmdr. (same as Bond's rank in the Royal Navy) and the IDW Ian Noble as just an agent with no military rank or service at all. |

Interesting that you bring this up, because that is basically how I have my verse set up. My modern joe team is a covert joint task force supporting the National Counter Terrorism Center with Joe Colton as the Director. Hawk is the commander of the group. I have Cobra as an international PMC called "Cobra Security Services."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nation...rrorism_Center This is my work in progress write up of the DEF: The DEF (Domestic Engagement Force) was created as a quick reaction force to carry out operations within US borders and specialize in urban environments. This unit has recruited operators from both federal law enforcement agencies and the military police. They operate with local and federal authorities officially under the umbrella of the Department of Homeland Security. Bulletproof: Officer in Charge / Commander Shockwave: Team Leader / Urban Tactical Specialist Lockdown: Point man / Shield Specialist Widescope: Sniper 1 Mayday: Sniper 2 / Urban Assault Specialist Barricade: Breaching Specialist / Urban Assault Long Arm: EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) / Technology Specialist Checkpoint: Assault / Grenadier (Munitions Expert) Bullhorn: Crisis Negotiator Law & Order: K-9 Handler / Urban Assault Sure Fire: Assault / HRT Operator I use marauder figures for the missing team members. I am thinking about adding a few more to flesh out the group. I need to get the pics up. Still you mention the NCTC as being the lead on the Domestic Terror front, but looking at the Wiki, it doesn't mention who is responsible for Actionable Information. Your Joe Force sounds great. My only point of contention is that Sure-Fire Outranks Bullet-proof, but he makes sense as part of the team.

The National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) was established by Presidential Executive Order 13354 in August of 2004. The NCTC serves as the primary organization in the U.S. government for integrating and analyzing all intelligence pertaining to terrorism possessed or acquired by the U.S. government including the CIA, FBI, NSA, Department of Defense and multiple other agencies. Its purpose is to provide the integration, dissemination, and use of intelligence collected by multiple agencies to serve as the central and shared knowledge bank on terrorism information and provide all-source intelligence to counterterrorism activities. This organization answers directly to the President of the United States and the National Security Council. In 2009, retired General Joseph Colton is named the new director of the NCTC. Due to delays in actionable intelligence developed by the center being executed through traditional military channels, he requested the creation of a quick reaction force to respond to immediate threats discovered by the center. After many successes, what started as a twelve man Special Forces group has now grown into Joint Task Force 141, a covert operational arm of the NCTC. It is a Joint Task Force with members recruited from U.S. military forces including Army Green Berets, Army Rangers, Marines, Navy SEALs, USAF 24th Special Tactics Squadron, the Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Night Stalkers) and other military units. The CIA's Special Activities Division, FBI agents and other government personnel also support the unit in addition to occasional elements from coalition nations (primarily a special group of the British Special Air Service). The unit does not attempt to recruit from Operational Detachment Delta (Delta Force) or Navy DEVGRU (SEAL Team Six) so as not to be seen as “poaching” from other Tier One units. The Task Force is designed to be autonomous and function outside of the purview of Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). The unit is capable of providing an immediate rapid deployment force to assess and if necessary, neutralize threats discovered by the center. Although officially known at Joint Task Force 141, team members of the unit now collectively refer to themselves as the “GI Joes” after General Colton. The team conducts covert operations that include the collection of intelligence on both foreign and domestic soil, direct action missions and high threat military or intelligence operations in which the U.S. government does not wish to be overtly associated. When working in a joint theater with other military units, the group is referred to as Other Coalition Force (OCF). Also, I think Surefire is pretty lame so I just include him as an FBI HRT member, but I don't want him as the leader. Last edited by Joe Spartan; 05-07-2018 at 05:55 PM.. |

^^ I like it. Makes perfect sense to me. Covers all the bases including why they call themselves “Joes” and how they can co-exist with Delta and DevGru.

So the NCTC doesn't just handle the domestic side. I basically have them involved in a shadow war with Cobra. Cobra has a known public side, but is involved in a number of dirty dealings and war crimes all over the world. They have also have embedded dirty politicians in our own government that allow them to thrive. This is why Colton formed his own unit to fight them. Here is my current write up, but it changes all the time:
