Oops. Here's one I missed...
Cobra (Cobra Officer - Argentina) – El Enimigo ‘The Enemy’ COBRA Code Name: The Enemy File Name: UNKNOWN Primary Military Specialty: Infantry Secondary Military Specialty: Artillery, Intelligence Grade: O4 (or equivalent) The Cobra Officers are vanguard fighters who command attack units in battle. It is believed that many of them operate also as spies in defense plants, installations of nuclear force [i.e., nuclear power plants], etc. All are experts in martial arts, disguises and deceptions and demolitions. Qualified Experts in: AK-47 Assault Rifle; PM-63 Automatic Pistol; M-16; M-11 Sub-machine gun; Ingram. The Cobra officers are dedicated to destroy G.I. JOE and the established way of life... are extremely dangerous enemies. Note that the Argentinian Cobra Officer was simply called "Cobra", like the "Cobra [trooper]." Well, that's it for Argentina! Unfortunately, I don't have the Argentinian Viper Pilot, but I suspect it was pretty much the same as the Brazilian version. Anyway, this has been fun! Maybe we can do the Dutch cards next! Ha! |

Don't know if anyone's mentioned this on the 'Tank (I only look at / post on this thread mostly) but Dalton Fury aka Major Tom Greer passed away a few days ago from pancreatic cancer.
Very sad, I enjoyed his work and appreciate his contribution and service to this world. RIP. Thomas Greer Obituary - Akron, OH | Akron Beacon Journal Major Tom Greer AKA "Dalton Fury", RIP - SOCNET: The Special Operations Community Network |

So the teams assigned to the Sabre Squadrons report directly to the Support and Combat Support Squadrons as far as chain of command (such as time off, etc)? It also sounds like the teams all have enlisted personnel and no officers, correct? Sorry for all of the questions, trying to figure out if this setup would work in my Joe-verse. Hopefully we get to see how you have filled your billets at some point.

Yes! and yeah, the Combat Support Teams attached to the Sabre Squadrons will by and large be mostly NCO's with maybe a Warrant Officer here and there. Some of the Combat Support Troops will have civilian contractors in their structure, mostly WMD scientists and a few in the Breaching Troop. They'll be sourced from Joe comics, cartoons and maybe the odd Transformers, COPS or MASK cannon character.
Since my Joe team's main mission is counter proliferation I was thinking of what kind of weapons experts to have on its team. Not sure if G.I.Jane would be a good candidate for that kind of position or not. Also I am trying to place Cutter somewhere. I know next to nothing about US Coast Guard jobs and extra skills they can pick up while in that service. I do not have any boat teams as I feel that if the Joes needed such an asset they would just secure the help of US Navy SWCC's. I am attempting to avoid too many logistics in my Joe team and make it as light as possible (hence no transport aircraft, helicopters, boats, etc). I thought of him having training in VBSS and also being Combat Diver-qualified (then I would place him in charge of my SCUBA Troop). He's going to take a while for me to figure out... |

On a completely different note - Cutter. I'm sure the Coast Guard bring certain legal options that aren't available to the Navy. Having a team with a Coast Guard, a DEA agent, an ATF agent, and FBI agent and a bunch of shooters would probably cover all your bases for taking down a target. You want to do counter-proliferation - well it seems to me that hiding a nuke in a container at sea is easier than shuffling it around on land, so your team should be prepared for that eventuality. As it happens, I thought that was the plot of a William Gibson story (Spook Country), but having just pulled it off a shelf I realize there was something different in that shipping container. But hey - why not hide a nuke at sea? |

Speaking of berets... Okay, I'm looking at a Sideshow Collectibles Beachhead with red beret. Is that a Ranger beret? Can he be considered a Ranger (c. 1986)?

nah, red beret is the 82nd Airborne Division. That's a Ranger beret badge on there, though. So that's screwed up.
