Do the Joes have an official Calvary Scout?
"The Cavalry Scout is the commander's eyes and ears on the battlefield. They are responsible for recon and learn about various weapons to include explosives and mines. Cavalry Scouts engage the enemy with anti-armor weapons and scout vehicles in the field, track and report enemy movement and activities, and will direct the employment of various weapon systems onto the enemy." These guys can also earn the right to wear stetson hats and spurs! |

No kidding. I still think that the combatant arm of Joe should be less then Cobra (so there's always that danger feel to the battles), but Joe would have an equal sized support arm.

The Scout is kind of like those guys in the overhead helicopter in Blackhawk Down, that relayed the stuff from command to the guys on the ground and provided directions for the ground pounders.

I think the Joes really need a Bradley with a Calvary Scout. He would be the Wild Bill of ground armor.

No, they don't, not really. Have guys that can fill that position but no one specifically tasked for that.

So shaping up to have a little Joe-Battlefield Coordinator "team".
My Lone Wolf and Airstrike guys (Airstrike would be Combat Controller) and a Cavarly Scout. Lone Wolf behind enemy lines relaying troop movements. Airstrike coordinating the air forces Cavarly Scout coordinating the armor/troops.
