Órbita ‘Orbit’ (Payload v.2) - Comando Astronauta ‘Command Astronaut’ / Piloto do Gemini (Força-Tarefa de Exploração Espacial ‘Task Force Space Exploration’) [Crusader Space Shuttle]
If flying is for the birds, travelling by space is for Orbit! As space commander, Gemini does not have [any] more secrets for him. Identifies the least abnormality just by the noise. And is able to give the solution, before the computers! The plan requires an out-of-ship [lit. “extra-ship”] mission? Orbit puts on the helmet and the cosmo-backpack, tests the controls, connects the umbilical cord, and [he’s] out the hatch, floating through space! He always lived more in the air than on the ground, sine the times of the Air Force. That is why, when Orbit is in space, he is at home! “Orbit always loved everything that relates to space: science fiction movies, animated cartoons, figurines, newspaper news, comics. He lived looking at the sky, dreaming of [the] stars: - One day I’m going up to it, he said. And his mother: - This boy… lives on the moon [lit. Moon World]!” Note 1: From my research, Órbita came either with or without a mustache. I think the non-mustache was more common, and is the one I prefer, so that he can be someone other than Payload and you get an extra astronaut. Note 2: I'm assuming "Gemini" is Mission Control or the equivalent of the Brazilian space camp for astronauts... Last edited by seaneley; 09-05-2016 at 11:56 AM.. |

This fella instantly became one of my favorites!
Biológico ‘Biological’ (Brazilian exclusive: Sci-Fi & Knockdown composite) – Força Eco ‘Eco Force’ The man who best understands living beings. Dedicated his entire life to them. Characteristics, needs, habits, everything that relates to a living being is his interest and knowledge. Which are vital to maintain the balance of the planet when the Cobras attack dirtily. Besides that, he has an ultra-thermal viewer to locate any living being, capturing the heat waves emitted by it. "Professor, biologist, veterinarian, doctor, psychologist, agronomist, botanist, scientist, warrior… He is all this and a little more. After all, who could know both – and at the same time – animals and plants, to defend them from the Cobra devastation?" He can do anything and everything! He's kind of like Mindbender's nemesis (though Mainframe and Hi-Tech are also needed to handle the computer stuff). Besides Doc (and maybe Psyche-Out), he's the only one with a PhD on the team! He's also the one to take care of all the Joes' pets (along with Dr. Talbot). I love this guy! Last edited by seaneley; 09-05-2016 at 02:32 PM.. Reason: typos |

'extra-ship mission' might be better translated as 'extra-vehicular activity' - NASA-speak for a space-walk

And here we have the first "G.I. Joe" farmer action figure!!!
Biomassa ‘Biomass’ (Brazilian exclusive: yellow & green Maverick) - Força Eco ‘Eco Force’ He was already [a] farmer. Biomass is the Eco Force specialist in energy production by mass organic fermentation or combustion, such as wood and coal. Uses his knowledge to avoid deforestation and air pollution caused by Cobras. And his helmet with purifier protection filter makes him fully invulnerable to any type of gas! “One day, taking some juice from sugarcane, Biomass had a snap: Why not take advantage of the bagasse* from sugarcane? He took [it]. And created a bio-digester to produce gas. The waste? They turned [into] fertilizers! [* The dry pulpy residue left after the extraction of juice from sugar cane, used as fuel for electricity generators, etc.] So, either he's making cheap, non-polluting fuel for the good guys, or he's producing a ton of grade-A fertilizer for their crops. Maybe both? |

This guy is way cool, because not only do we have another scientist, we have another astronaut too! I'm definitely in love with Eco Force now!
Biosfera ‘Biosphere’ (Brazilian exclusive: blue, green & yellow Sneak Peek) - Força Eco ‘Eco Force’ He thoroughly understands all parts of the Earth where life is possible. The earth’s crust, the oceans and the atmosphere do not have further secrets for him. When it joins with Biosphere and his knowledge on living beings, [it] forms an unbeatable duo in defense of life, in all its forms! “Biosphere already lived on the slopes of a volcano, sailed from Pole to Pole, spent years in lunar orbit. All to know better conditions in which life can develop. His companions bet: what will be the next he will face? Until now, nobody managed to hit [i.e. “guess”, and thus win the bet]…” |

Nothing like the Gung-Ho we all know and love; the "Brazilian Gung-Ho" is all about airplanes and probably more comfortable in the Air Force!
Gung-Ho – Marechal-do-Ar ‘Air Marshal’ The Commandos were looking for him in Aeronautics. After all, more time in the air [than?] he, only even the birds… [The] Marshal of the Air flies every type of aircraft. And always with the same skill. But what he likes most to do is to fly in missions of defense and impossible rescues! “He always lived near to [an] airport. Loved to ride airplanes. Afterwards, left for model airplanes. Took brief. He served in Aeronautics. Only he could be drafted into the team of the best in action, the Commandos!” I interpreted this as best I could. Really. |

Tigor (Brazilian exclusive: Recoil & Scoop composite) - Perito em Guerrilhas na Selva ‘Expert Guerrillas in the Jungle’ / Força Fera ‘Beast Force’ & Bangala the Tigre ‘Tiger’
Tigor is known as “Man-Tiger”, through the perfection [i.e., thoroughness] that mimics the roar and the way of this animal. They say that [lit., up until] he “talks” to his loyal friend Bangla – a fierce Bengal tiger, which obeys his commands. In the middle of the jungle, camouflaged in tiger [print] and with the help of Bangla, Tigor is very invincible. Especially, when roaring his rifle, amazing all the Cobras. “A young zoologist decided to fight the hunters [or, poachers] of skins in Africa and India. Emerged thus Tigor. In India, he faced the loathsome Cobra Urzor and freed Bangla – the tiger. He won [both] a mortal enemy and a loyal friend of adventures.” So, apparently, Tigor used to be a zoologist. I don't know if he was a full professor or just a university student. Either way, it's nice to have yet another scientist / soldier on the team! Well, that's it. Except for Leatherneck, I think we have covered all the Brazilian "Joes" (i.e., "Action Commandos"). If I've missed any, let me know. Maybe we can start on the Argentinian ones now, if anyone has their file-cards somewhere? Last edited by seaneley; 09-10-2016 at 12:29 AM.. Reason: Further musings... |
