He was born to command. Helmet placed, intercom set, General Attack is ready for action. With extremely fast reasoning and a polar cold when making decisions, he is the right man for the most impossible missions!
“He organized football championships, old comic books exchanged for new, led excursions with the whole class. With this leadership spirit he could only end up in the Army. In it for the Commandos, it was only a matter of time!” Brazil Scoop. Yeah, he's their boss. Funny thing is, his code-name is still "Scoop". "General Attack" is his job description, like Ranger or Sailor. However, I agree that he was intended to be their leader, just from what is stated on the file-card. What exchanging comics has to do for a serious qualification of leadership just leaves me scratching my head... Last edited by seaneley; 08-23-2016 at 06:11 PM.. |

He may have a Cobra symbol on his belt, but the "Brazilian Astro-Viper" only works for Destro...
Astro-Viper - Piloto do F.E.R.A. (Foguete Espacila de Reconhecimento e Ataque ‘Special Rocket of Reconnaissance and Attack’) [Cobra Stellar Stiletto] / Força Destro ‘Destro Force’ Astronaut of Destro Force enabled to pilot the F.E.R.A. (‘BEAST’), Special Rocket of Recognition and Attack Main specialization: Special combat. Secondary specialization: sabotage of [stadiums? estates?] and repairs. And with a new era of relations of friendship and exchange of technological information between the Russians and Americans, the spy career of the Astro-Viper came to an end twofold. He stopped being useful to the two forces. But, for his high knowledge of astronautics and military secrets of those two powers, he was soon recruited by another force, to unbalance the alliance of peace. For he who always acted in the dark, it was easy to adapt to the cold and darkness of outer space, where he works now in service of Destro, like a viper of darkness. A viper moved with high technology: * gear with powerful jet thrusters, 2 high precision laser cannons and 2 command “joysticks” * Helmet with thermal display-sensor, for vision in the dark. |

S.O.S. (Doc) - Médico ‘Doctor’
S.O.S. always wanted one thing in life: to be a doctor and work for a noble cause. And succeeded. Courageous and a friend of peace, he participates in the most dangerous missions as a true protector of all the Commandos. His weapons do not kill – on the contrary, they save hundreds of lives. |

Sparta “Brigid Cortez” (Cover Girl) - Agente Secreta ‘Secret Agent’
Sparta always says that if she were not a secret agent she would be a theater artist. After all, she can impersonate anyone and is able to pass by one of the Cobras right under their noses. Performing a difficult spy mission in the Cobra barracks, even one step from being discovered and in danger, Sparta keeps her self-control [lit. ‘blood cool’] and manages to outwit the enemies. The name "Brigid Cortez" is the name that the GIJCC gave her updated action figure. The original Brazilian file-card did not have this name. |

Condor (Airborne) - Capitão dos Ares ‘Captain of the Air’
As a child, his major dream was to fly. That is why, he became a parachutist and joined the Commandos. Traversing the heavens, Condor sees there below one Cobra group in suspicious maneuvers. More than quick, launches into the air with his parachute, a perfect and accurate jump to reach a safe position of observation. His accuracy in jumps is such that it seems like, instead of a parachute, he has wings. It is not for nothing that the other Commandos say: “The sky is the domain of Condor.” Whether or not they intended "Brazilian Airborne" to be an actual captain or not, I don't know. However, it would make more sense if he was Wild Bill's co-pilot if he was an officer. |

A cruel and insensitive scientist, Mestre Rapina put his knowledge of birds of prey to the service of evil. He has complete dominion over them. Makes vultures, hawks and eagles the most sinister and threatening aerial force that has been known.
“The twisted mind of Mestre Rapina invented a hypnotic device that can keep raptors under his absolute control. They attack with thousands of sharp claws and menacing beak at a glance!” Brazil Voltar. I think this is another case of me using the descriptor as his name, Like General Attack. |

Thanks!
I had no idea anything like this existed either. I've been a big fan of this thread for a long time. I've been trying to work my way through it all, but there's a lot here. It's led to a lot of fun and a months' long attempt to impose some sort of realistic (or at least sensible) organization onto both GI Joe and Cobra. Still working on it, but I have at least a start to keep me happy for now. We have discussed a lot of the Joes that are US Army (given that most of them come from that branch) but I want to discuss the Navy (non-SEAL) Joes. I am reading about the US Navy rating system and trying to flesh out Joes such as Rampart, Topside, Deep-Six and Shipwreck. Here is what I have come up with: Shipwreck is obviously a Machinist's Mate and then a Gunner's Mate according to his filecard. Later filecards indicate he went to BUDS training (which they would have kept him as a SEAL afterwards and he would not have gone back to the Joes). So if you incorporate his SEAL training he would have had to serve as one before joining the Joe Team. Not sure if it is typical for a Seaman to go through three ratings in their career or not (in Shipwreck's case Machinist-Gunner-SEAL) so it is up to the individual whether to drop one of them or not. Rampart seems to also be a Gunner's Mate. I do not see anything else that is close to what a "shoreline defender" could be. Maybe he also became a SWCC later on in his career? Topside I have as starting in the Information Systems Technician rating (to cover his Telecommunications SMS) and then re-enlisting as a Master-at-Arms since his later filecard states "Navy Security". Deep-Six almost seems like a Navy Diver but I do not have a place for a Joe who does repairs on large ships and such. So I use him as Navy EOD instead. Thoughts? |

I prefer Shipwreck being a Swick, it makes him different than being yet another damn frogman/diver type. It also kinda fits with him being the helmsman on that Piranha boat or whatever it was from about 10 years back.

Disarmer was summoned to locate and disarm a bomb installed by a Cobra terrorist at the Commandos HQ. Aided by “Nosey”, his little robot with electromagnetic counter waves, Disarmer concluded that the bomb was in a sore of ammunition. So he went in there and tried the light switch, his common sense proved to be their best equipment. The robot detector unit confirmed: the bomb was INSIDE THE LAMP! One touch and the place would be lit by an explosion! With his infrared display helmet for night vision, he disarmed the bomb. At the end was that explosion... of applause from the Commandos!
“Disarmer is the kind of professional that if you miss a turn, you will not have another chance! One misstep can be fatal. His father, an old watchmaker, taught him that every minute of life is precious and that not all ‘tick-tock’ comes from a clock!” Brazil Lightfoot |
