This is what I got for Rampart, since I was curious about the wording and since I was trying to figure out exactly what his "Brazilian counterpart" does.
Rampart - Comando Rajada ‘Command Gust / Volley Commando / Burst Commando’ Combining high-technology and talent, he faces a whole platoon of Cobras. And always wins! His glasses have lenses of liquid crystal, that transmit information of the enemy targets instantly. And his accuracy in shooting a machine gun made his fame: with Burst Commando just one [shot] and nothing remains! “No one ever has won from Burst Commando in a dispute of target shooting. Is fatal: while the opponent is thinking in what to do, he already shot all his targets. And also the adversary!” So, he's basically the Brazilian version of Deadshot... I think. |

And here's "Brazilian Dr. Mindbender"! This was the 2nd figure of Dr. Mindbender for Brazil, based on the "Battle Corps" Dr. Mindbender...
Dr. Mindbender [v.2] – Tropa de Assalto ‘Assault Troop / Squad’ / Piloto do Anikilator ‘Driver of the Annihilator’ [Street Fighter 2 Sonic Boom Tank / Paralyzer Tank] He was an honest and peaceful dentist who used a brainwave stimulator to relieve toothaches. Until the day he committed the tragic error of experimenting even upon himself with the device. An overload in the circuit completely changed his personality and Dr. Mindbender became perverse and hateful, a dangerous genius of crime who uses this powerful weapon to transform his enemies into zombies! “Dr. Mindbender always believed in the power of mind. The evidence of school for example, he never studied and always expected to take 10. He could not, but he was not led by won [winning?]. He only thought that he was not concentrating enough…” |

Interestingly, the first "Brazilian Dr. Mindbender" was part of the Iron Grenadiers (called "Força Destro" ['Destro Force']).
Dr. Mindbender [v.1] - Piloto do A.T.I.L.A. (Aero-Tanque Integrado de Linha de Ataque ‘Integrated Air-Tank Attack Line’) [Destro’s Dominator] Dangerous genius of crime and pilot of A.T.I.L.A., Aero-Tanque Integrado de Linha de Ataque (‘Integrated Air-Tank Attack Line’) Main specialization: Mind control and brainwashing. Secondary specialization: Creation of conflicts to disrupt world peace. Dr. Mindbender was an honest and peaceful dentist, who used a brainwave stimulator to relieve toothaches. Until the day that he committed the tragic error of experimenting even upon himself with the device. An overload in the circuit completely changed his personality and he became perverse and hateful. To repair the system, he transformed [it] into a portable powerful weapon capable of reducing people to the condition of zombies. Allied to Destro, he became more of a genius of crime and service to terror. Super-equipped with: * Automatic pistol 45. * Stimulatory electric brainwave drill, with force generator. It is obvious that both figures of Dr. Mindbender in Brazil were intended to be the same character, even though they were given different vehicles to drive. The file-cards were almost the same and - unlike other characters in Brazil who had more than one figure mold used from the U.S. - he retained the same code-name with both versions. Here's a guy I always wanted translated, the "evil Beachhead"! I prefer to translate his name as "Pitfall". It sounds cooler than the more common "Trap".
Armadilha ‘Trap / Pitfall / Snare’ (“Battle Corps” Beachhead in blue & yellow) – Esquadrao de Elite ‘Elite Squad’ Ex-guerilla in Africa, he knows all about pitfalls, traps and ambushes. One of his greatest pleasures is to hear the chilling sound of breaking bones when they are caught in one of his execrable constraints. Yet even the Cobras fear some of them whenever they need to call him for any mission. After all, they think, how can anyone trust a man called Pitfall? “Suspicious of everything and everyone, he never leaves his body uncovered. No one ever saw him without his helmet, vest and uniform. The Commandos joke, saying to get close to him is already falling into a trap. The smell is terrible…” |

Main specialization: Strategist and leader of the forces of terror. Specialization secondary: Martial Fights and development of weapons of electro-radiation. The rise of Cyclone is the crib. Born and raised among Satanist fanatics, he was prepared to rule the dark side of the universe. Through shady means, he climbed to the highest place of command, always with complete dominion over his troops, competing with Destro to whom he is subordinate. In the near future, a confrontation between the two leaders will be inevitable. Destro had better watch out, because the sharp claws of Cyclone may rip it from the history pages of organized Terror!

While on the subject of international file cards, I got this file card for Flint in a lot I got from eBay. It lists Flint as a Warrant Trooper and gives Footloose's file name and MOS. There is no other information given on it. But there is a crudely drawn Flint on it. The other side makes it appear that it comes from a carded figure.
Any idea where it comes from? I spent some time poking around yojoe and went through all the international stuff there, but couldn't find it. Thanks! |

I did a quick bit of googling after seeing the word 'stampos' and came up with this; (TAS032353) - 1985 Stampos G.I. Joe Rubber Stamps - Warrant Officer Fl – The Angry Spider Vintage Toys & Collectibles Store I think it's from a series of licensed rubber stamps made by the Pepperwood International company in 1985. Here's a link to a similar set on Yo Joe YOJOE.COM | G.I.Joe Rubber Stamp Nice find, I didn't know these existed till now * EDIT - Here's a copy of the Footloose stamp on eBay, looks like they swapped the details for Flint & Footloose around. I've been trying to work my way through it all, but there's a lot here. It's led to a lot of fun and a months' long attempt to impose some sort of realistic (or at least sensible) organization onto both GI Joe and Cobra. Still working on it, but I have at least a start to keep me happy for now. |

I'd love to hear some of your ideas (I think we all do), sharing ideas really helps solidify concepts and sensibilities. Also, don't be afraid to ask stuff we may have covered in the past. We love to re-hash things

He was born to command. Helmet placed, intercom set, General Attack is ready for action. With extremely fast reasoning and a polar cold when making decisions, he is the right man for the most impossible missions!
“He organized football championships, old comic books exchanged for new, led excursions with the whole class. With this leadership spirit he could only end up in the Army. In it for the Commandos, it was only a matter of time!” Brazil Scoop. Yeah, he's their boss. |
