As a child, Everest was already climbing mountains to see the scenery from above. Thanks to agility and persistence, overcoming bigger obstacles was only a matter of time. He always wanted to come out on top, which led him to join the Action Commandos.

Quote:
Coyote’s favourite pastimes are long walks through the woods, crossing rapid rivers and surviving the dangers of the jungle. These walks brought him into contact with nature and made him a brave and irreplaceable Commando. He thrives on solitary and risky missions where only his rapid reflexes can save his life.
While not a literal translation, that file card reads better as follows: Coyote's hobbies while growing up were hiking, crossing raging rivers and jungle survival. He spent so much time in the wild that he cruised through commando training. Coyote excels in solo, high risk missions were he must depend on his quick wits and reflexes. Quote:
Who is Coyote? I don't see him on the YoJoe list is there a better list?
I love the translations, but these are some of the worst filecards ever written! Were they written by a 12 year old girl? or the lyrics to a shitty Journey song. I want to ask my daughter to write one and see what she comes up with? Let me give it a shot: ESCAPE (Made up character) enjoys pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. He is not that into yoga. As a boy turned in to a fightin' man he vowed. They won't take me They won't break me And now he can get out of any prison and pick locks with only a paper bag and plastic hearts and his brilliant mind as he lies awake and dreams of getting out. |

The Antarctic base of the Commandos, was the victim of a real snowstorm. The scourge came sliding in on a jet-ski. It was a terrible Cobra agent, known to the dark side as Nevasca. With jet-skiing in his backpack and the special snowshoes, he approached stealthily and knocked out the guards with his freeze gun. Always protected by machine-gun fire, he skied back to his tank-sled - the Snow Abominable - and led the Cobra troops that devastated the base. To this day remembering the attack gives the Commandos a chill down their spine!
"The ice is his element. Born and raised in Antarctica, Nevasca acquired early on enough cold blood for his terrorist actions. When he attacks, the Commandos know they can get a cold!" |

translation's an art and I'm working with the equivalent of MS Paint and no knowledge of Portuguese.

Thanks for doing these Cap, they're very informative. They've actually made me change up some of the support positions in my 'verse.

I have added a few over the years, but only the more generic looking ones. I need to look at Condor, Fumaca and Estopim to rename all my now obsolete Sky Patrol custom figures.
You taking requests CapBritain?

Fair enough - and no one who speaks Portuguese has stepped up. And, as Loose noted, some of these are poorly written to start with (Sgt Slaughter), while others make more sense in a Brazilian context (Lifeline).

Not to nitpick, Cap. Britain, but I think Murhala's (Flint's) file-card is incomplete. I think you may have missed the first part of it. If I'm wrong, I apologize. And I really, really appreciate you taking the time to do this. I know it's time-consuming. (Which is why I'm not doing it. LOL.)
Just in case anyone was wondering, Murhala translates as 'Wall' and Navasca translates as 'Blizzard'. (He's the "evil Blizzard" [v.1] of the Brazilian file-cards, while our Blizzard is a JOE.) |

CapBritain do you have a link to your fanfic? I lost it and I know you had a lot of the South American Joes in there.
