Yeah I remember in the movie "Blackhawk Down" the Squadron Commander being the ground commander riding in the C&C Blackhawk (along with the air commander who was from the 160th SOARS). I picture Hawk in that role and made him the Commanding Officer of one of my Sabre Squadrons (which I named Tiger Squadron. Kind of a nod towards Tiger Force).
I think I finally have a Mountain Troop that I am 99% happy with in my Tiger Squadron: Sub-Zero (90) Troop Commander Blizzard (88) Troop Sergeant Nolan “Ice Storm v2” Litgotke (11) Troop Medic Dee-Jay (89) Troop Communicator Alpha Team Alpine (85) Team Leader Frostbite (85) Iceberg (86) Avalanche (87) Hit & Run (88) Backblast (89) RTO Bravo Team Snow Storm (93) Team Leader Cold Front (90) Mirage (93) White Out (00) RTO Nolan “Ice Storm” MacPhee (11) Charlie Team Snow Job (83) Team Leader Low-Light (86) Windchill (89) Ambush (90) I originally had Doc as the Troop Medic (I made him an enlisted medic instead of an actual doctor) but moved him up to the Squadron HQ Medic Sergeant billet. SO I moved Ice Storm v2 from Bravo Team to the HQ Troop Medic position. I still need one more soldier placed in Bravo Team now. I did something similar with what you had a while back ago and made my Troops have a 4-man HQ, Two 6-man Assault Teams and a 4-man STA section. Still filling the gaps in my other three Troops (the Joes have WAAAY too many Mobility-type guys and not enough HALO and SCUBA). |

Since Windchill v2 is from Scotland I was going to make him part of the SAS and not the Joe team (same with Big Ben). In some of my stories I was going to have the Joe team work with the SAS and introduce those two characters at that time. Sgt. Boulder is in my Recce Troop within the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Squadron (since his filecard specifies "Recon").
Later filecards of Rock'n'Roll, Zap, Clutch and Short-Fuze had them doing mountain training so I may make one of them part of the Mountain Troop. EDIT: I double-checked Sgt. Boulder's fielcard...it states "Scout" and not "Recon" so I went ahead and moved him over to my Mountain Troop. Last edited by john shaft; 07-12-2016 at 04:46 PM.. |

South American mountaineers:
Alpinista (Brazil Hit&Run) Everest (Brazil Alpine) Risco (Crag) (Argentine Alpine) Everest As a child, Everest was already climbing mountains to see the scenery from above. Thanks to agility and persistence, overcoming bigger obstacles was only a matter of time. He always wanted to come out on top, which led him to join the Action Commandos. Risco Arthur Gray joined the Army shortly after High School. He was nicknamed ‘Risco’ for his love of climbing and didn’t hesitate to choose this as his military speciality. Tenacious and fearless, this Commando has climbed the highest peaks in the world on super-secret missions to install sophisticated technology for satellite base stations. Alpinista No one understands more about mountains than Alpinista. He does not use special equipment to scale them. Uses only his hands and his feet! Knows every trail, every peak, each side of a mountain as if they were parts of his own body. "When he was a baby Alpinista loved climbing on all everything in front of him: chairs, tables, beds, sofas, cabinets. And no one needed to rescue him. He was always a good climber!" |

some of them are better than others on both sides, from what little I've seen of the Argentine filecards.

Smoke/Fuego (actual file card from Brazil, Argen card subs ‘Fire’ for ‘Smoke’)
He's the first to face the "hottest" missions. Equipped with his oxygen mask, Smoke goes through fires and bombed out areas to the get the lay of the land. Amid the wreckage, there can always remain a hidden Cobra, ready to strike. But with his ultra-fast reflexes, Smoke anticipate any treacherous blow and holds enemies off. The other Commandos approach after the ground is clean and the smoke is gone just to prove that the value of Smoke never clears! |

Code Name: Leontor
Jungle Survival Expert When he was 10 years old, Leontor got lost in the woods with his kitten, Atlantica. After days of frantic searching, he returned home to his astonished parents. He had been drinking rainwater and eating fruits and roots. As an adult, he has applied that survival skill to become an expert in jungle survival, living rough in the rainforests of Brazil for months at a time with minimal resources, relying on his utility knife to cut down wood for fires, for cutting open fruit to eat or cutting wood for shelter. He uses his telescope to navigate by the night stars and to keep an eye on areas many miles across. His only companion is Leonx, a lion he befriended and who has become his inseparable companion. |

Relampago grew up in a dangerous world of street racing and urban gangs, causing a number of deaths with his reckless attitude to life. He was briefly part of a travelling show, hitting moving targets whilst riding a motorcycle at speed. The Commandos recruited him, but almost immediately, he turned on them, becoming a Cobra agent. His treachery didn’t last long before he was uncovered and expelled. Now, he is a member of Cobra’s Force Python, elite troops for missions need superhuman abilities.
The Commandos need to think fast when Relampago is around, His name means ‘Lightning’ and that’s how fast he moves! |
