They're supposed to be.
But if you use both in your armies, how do they work? I see the Resolute as being more elite just because they look it. They look like Cobra S.W.A.T. so I think that's kind of the use they'll get in my army, but in reverse. They're the hostage takers. They'll be the ones that storm and take a building over.

Yeah, I totally use my Resolute Troopers as more elite members of Cobra. I'm probably going to use them as a SWAT unit - maybe as an elite guard, or to back up the Alley Vipers.

Because of their gear, I'm starting to think of the Resolute troopers as the real frontline soldiers and the old troopers are give non-combat duties: security, training, armory, maintenance and other tasks. They work in house where it's safer.

That's a good use, but then how do you work in Night Watch, Air Troopers, Bazooka Troopers and such? They're dressed in the old "blueshirt" style but are definately combatant troops. Old "blueshirts" are support/security staff. Resolute are frontline troopers, "blueshirt" specialists are frontline troopers, Vipers are special forces? I like that.

They definitely look the part of Urban Commandos or a police force. I haven't given it a lot of thought yet but I may use them as Bodyguards (Secret service types) So lets see.... in my Cobraverse, Cobra Commander has : 1. Storm Shadow as his personal Bodyguard 2. Armor Cobra Commanders as his next level of Bodyguard-adjuntant (I have like 8 so I decided he got better armor but kept a few suits for his bodyguard detachment) 3. Crimson Guard Immortals as his battlefield supplemental bodyguard detachment 4. Cobra Imperial Guards Now add the Resolute Guys that's 5 levels of bodyguard. CC rolls deep! |

I like the idea of Resolute being like a Cobra S.W.A.T.
Carry out the non-military style missions? Taking hostages, kidnapping scientists (well, kidnappings are the jobs of the ninjas...), taking over banks, taking over offices, that kind of thing. Urban Special Forces. Alley Vipers are street-to-street warfare, Resolute Troopers are inside the buildings.

Mindebender; Knox; Venom; Red Laser(He's part of my Cobraverse) Hotwire; Plus I always imagine that CC is a bit of a scientist himself. Well more of an engineer. He just partied too hard in College and never applied himself. Finally one day he snapped! |

And Cobra's always looking for the latest in new tech, so they're kidnapping and stealing tech/medical/biological/business secrets and technologies.
That's how Dr. Biggles-Jones joined Cobra, she was initially kidnapped by them and ended up joining them. So having a squad/group of Cobra agents that are trained to do nothing but take a building and secure hostages/technology would make sense. But that's kind of what I had the Night Watch doing. I like Resolute better for this purpose though.

Something I was thinking about the other day. Would the laser troopers (Flash, Sci-Fi, Redspot) qualify as snipers?
