Loose, I've been re-reading thru the MOS Career Management Manuals and it's my understanding that Delta guys keep their previous MOS details. That is, whatever Career Management Field they had prior to selection, they keep throughout. So an 18 series Special Forces remains 18 series on their HR forms, 74D remains 74D etc.
I don't think they have a separate career management stream and considering how long it took to create one for the 18 series, I can't see it happening anytime soon. |

Interesting. So if an 11B staff sergeant got selected for Delta his MOS would look like 11B3T?

Yeah I wasn't sure if they became 18 series once they join Delta, like an 11B would switch to 18E or something if they joined the Green Berets.

To be honest after that site you found Tyroc, I would love to see more of that on the filecards but now we are into extreme nerdage. I guess to hide the identities it would be useful to not change them, but if they are stationed in Fort Bragg with the rest of Special Forces I would imagine they would try to blend in with them. They wear Green Berets don't they? I would guess if not maybe some thing like 11B3VW8. 11B(Infantry)3(Staff Sgt)V(Ranger Parachutist)W8(SPECIAL FORCES MILITARY FREE FALL OPERATIONS) What if they are a sniper too? (B4) Or a Pathfinder?(F7) I don't think they keep tacking them on for every school one attends. There must be an order of importance. Probably the highest paying. I suppose they may move the initial MOS to a SMS when you join Special Forces. Like what would Bazooka look like who went from Armor to Anti-Armor (Cavalry Scout in my example) MOS 19D2PB8 - SMS 19K2OK4 I guess people don't really switch that many times, I imagine a Sgt Major probably has and by that time they have an entirely new MOSC for them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United...ccupation_code All About the Army Additional Skill Identifiers

One can have a Secondary Military Specialty I believe. Although I don't know how one maintains two MOSs especially if they are in separate Career Fields.
So don't Delta wear Green Berets?

Apparently H was the old SQI for enlisted instructors and 8 was reserved for warrants, but now all instructors get an "8", except officers who get K4 or K5, something like that. The H hasn't disappeared yet. Not sure why. It may be realigned for some other use.
